Guess who's back...?
Hi Diet Cheffers...

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I've been doing Lighter Life until recently - losing around 5 stone so far out of about 6-6.5 that I was hoping to lose. I came off LL intending to eat low GI and lose the last bit that way alongside a new fitness regime with a personal trainer. The pounds started to creep back on so I moved to low carb and got back to where I was when I came off LL.

I have toyed with the idea of going back to LL and doing more abstinance, but just can't get my head around it... but equally, my eating is a little sporadic and I need some kind of stability again - I LOVED the fact that there was no thinking involved in LL - you had what you were given. End of.

So - imagine my elation when I found this sub-forum for Diet Chef! WOOPWOOP! I have just been and paid for five weeks, and it will be delivered on Tuesday.

I like the fact it is common sense eating - nothing faddy, and hopefully it will retrain me a little bit on portion sizes etc. I am sure this is where my problem lies.

Minimins was a real life saver for me during LL and I still post there daily because I've met some wicked people, and it keeps me on track - so hopefully I will be able to do the same here, and get to know a few of you.

Out of interest - did anyone here start DC when they only had a bit of weight to lose? I know dieting from a large weight means bigger initial losses - not sure how the body reacts when you are smaller. I am about a size 14 now, 11 stone 10 (ish), will do first proper weigh in on Weds morning before my first DC meal.

I am hoping to get to 10 stone, maybe slightly under... and I have until 6th May to do so (the date I fly to Argentina to go and study for a month)... would be great to have this memory as a proper slim bean - is this achievable?!

Anna xx

Hi Anna!

Many congrats on your huge loss so far, gosh you've done sooooo wel!!
Just as you stay on LL forum - I stay on here despite the fact I now do Lipotrim.

I loved DC and will go back on it when I get down to a manageable weight. I made the mistake of making substitutions and adding things in here and there until I was out of control!! Unfortunately too much choice = out of control for me :(

DC certainly does teach you about portion sizes. It's a great plan. As for how it works with not much to lose - sorry I can't answer that one. They say you'll lose a stone in the first month and I think pretty much everyone I've seen on it has. For most it slows down a bit after that although if you look at jrabbit and bryal's losses they're doing fantastically and can show you what can be done if you really stick to it!

This forum isn't as busy as some of the others and is particularly quiet at the moment but there are a few of us around!

Best of luck anyway. I look forward to seeing how you get on. Make sure you keep us informed!! :):) xx

Hi Anna
:welcome2:to the DC forum - there are a few of us who are on fairly regularly but Jan is right in saying it is sometimes very quiet and I often wonder whether people disappear and have given up or if they are doing well but just not posting - I would love to know !!

anyway... not sure how my week will be in terms of weight loss as it was my Birthday :bday: on Friday and DS (5 yrs) was up in the early hours (with a very different type of birthday surprise) throwing up and having an upset tum :9529:- needless to say I couldn't send him to school and having taken the day off work to meet with various friends for coffee and my ma for lunch - I had to cancel it all....:(
Anyway I had several glasses of wine off plan and a piece of cake on Friday night and then today I have been out for lunch and as no one else has gone down with the bug - we have had a family Chinese meal (take away) this evening :eating: and it was yummy - feeling a bit guilty now !! and more wine.... Well tomorrow is a new day and I feel ok about a small relapse !! I am off to Center Parks Spa with my work colleagues for the day tomorrow and that will be very relaxing !!
At the mo - I am managing 1-2 lbs a week which I am very happy with !!

Anyway this was a very long winded and waffly welcome !!
LOL

Welcome! You have made a great choice, I love diet chef and it has totally taught me portion control, and now I can't eat as much as I used to without feeling mega sick! I started with about 5 stone to lose and now I have 3 to go!! :) I think your plan is totally achievable!

I think the best advice I can give you is to stick to it to the letter for at least the first 5 weeks, then after that you can start to change the plan to suit you whilst still being within your calories allowance.

We can do it together!!!
