I was just wondering, because I managed to squeeze into a pair of jeans today that knowfor a fact I last got into when I was 11.7 , 10 years ago.... I am nearly a stone and a half heavier than that at the moment. Has10 years of being overweight built up my muscle and bone, cos I can get into stuff at this weight that I couldn't get near in my 20's. Hmm, don't know

Your bone density normally decreases as you get older having peaked in your late 20's (if I remember my physiology lectures correctly). Having said that though if you exercise a lot over time you build up stronger bones (hence the bloke who took up rowing & built up really strong biceps quickly and then snapped his arm in an arm wresling contest as his muscle was too strong for his bone to support), so it is possible that carrying extra weight can build up the strength & weight of your bones. In other words I agree with your "hmm don't know"!
