Exercise !

I've heard of toning tables but what are they and what do they do?

So do you have to work on them?

Just back from a body pump session - only on day 2 and was a bit concerned that I might get a bit faint but was good.

I have recently joined the gym and have been going to a few body vive classes..i really want to try body pump but like you i'm a bit worried incase it's too much and i pass out! lol.

Can you tell me a bit more about the class and what happens? Does the instructor decide on how much weight you should be lifting or is it up to yourself?

Sorry for all the questions but i'd really like to know so i dont embarrass myself by fainting lol x

I did a Tae Kwon Do class last Monday and I did feel faint in it, however I spoke to my CDC and she said that for an early evening class I should keep my last shake until after it to help prevent dehydration and to drink plenty of water before the class. I did that for my next class and had no problems.

Regards,

I do between 4 and 8 hours of Karate a week and haven't had a problem with faintness so far. . . (touch wood) . . but I really miss Body Pump. I used to love that class when I was a gym member.

Hi - I love Bodypump (do it three times a week). The class is weights based, but is more about repititions than lifting as much as you can. The instructors are all v good and if you're new they let you know what weights to start with, you then build up from there as you progress.

There is a lot of changing weights up or down for each track as you work different parts of your body. It does make you sweat - I got through a litre of water on the last session but normallly (pre CD) I was drinking about 0.5 during a class.

Its really a class you can see progress in...give it a go!

Do you think that excercise makes the weight loss quicker while on CD, or does it 'just' tone?
Thanks, Maheen, I'll try the tables.

My CDC said that she saw a more consistent and larger weight loss with clients that exercised.

Everyone is different though, so it will work for some and not for others, also if you add muscle, that might hide fat loss I guess.

Jan

I'm going to try a pilates class this week and either go for a swim or to the gym for a power walking session on the treadmill :)
