Ok, Well yay! because, after following SW on my own for last three and half weeks lost 17lbs....decided was feeling really good and so went and joined local SW class last night.

Was great, lovely group....and I was actually looking forward 2 first weigh in cos I have been following plan religiously....BUT low and behold it weighed me in as 8lbs heavier than my scales at home (WW digital scales nontheless lol)

Now i know that scales show discrepancies blah blah...but why do I feel so ...:(...sounds silly but feel bit more set back in my mind cos im 8 lbs behind what I thought I was!!

I know its silly cos I have still lost 17lbs (whatever my starting weight lol) but cant help it

I had a similar experience.....I have lost a stone according to my scales at home......when I went to doctors I was weighed and she said "oh well done you've lost five pounds" "FIVE I though, what about the rest?!?"
The scales at the gym are also different....

I've taken to measuring my inches lost, all tape measures are the same right?!?

I went to class tonight to be told I had lost 6 1/2 in two weeks ( I missed last week) but on my scales I have lost 4! Very confusing indeed! But I think I will just stick with my one at home, and go to class for the motivation.

ooh i would be so happy if it were my home scales which were modest...grr never mind losses are losses...if I hadnt been doing slimming worl would have gained weight in the last 3 weeks, not lost over a stone i guess

lol i know what u mean muppetgirly...i saw the weight on the scales at class and it said x stone 10lbs....i was like surely that must say and 1lb not 10 dont believe it!!

Ah bless chantelle, i was at hospital and weighed about 6 pound heavier than i am on sw scales, and my scales at home weigh me a pound and a half heavier tan sw, so imgonna stick with sw ones cos i am the lighest ha ha ha, good luck xxx

My home scales weigh my 8lb lighter than SW ones (that's if I weigh in the morning naked and then go to my SW class in the evening). I've stopped weighing at home now and just use the SW scales (although occasionally I hop on my ones as it's nice to nearly see 11 something rather than still be in the 12's!).

My scales at home weigh .5lb heavier than the one's at class which is good. I try not to get on them in the week but will often have a sneaky peak just before I set out to class to get weighed.

Another good reason to bin the home scales and stick to one weigh in a week! The only way to get a consistent result is to get weighed once a week, on the same set of scales every time. :)

Mine at home can give several different readings so I don't bother with them. The SW ones are said to be accurate to within half a pound and I always think if the half doesn't show one week then it will do the next.

Well done on your weight loss so far, I know it must be disappointing but just remember what you have lost and not what the scales say.

Stick with it chick!
xx

As the others have said, you have done so well in 3 weeks anyway, dont fret over the difference. There is always going to be a difference on whatever scales you weigh on. It will come off again though Huni!

I went back to class recently too, after doing sw at home for a while. I knew full well the scales in class would be different to my home ones, but I just had to accept that the weight on those scales would be the one I would go on from now on.

It doesn't change the excellent work you've done so far. Think of your measurements, clothes fitting better and feeling healthier.

You'll soon feel better :)
