Help 2nd Week on Cambridge Diet

I everyone I am currently on my second week but do not seem to be losing much weight my first week I only lost 3-4 pounds and this week looks like another dire week as have weighed myself today in preparation for my meeting with my counsellor and looks like I’ve only lost 2 pounds.

I just don’t get it I am doing everything right I have not cheated and I’m drinking my water but I don’t seem to be getting any decent results, I have read lots of peoples comments on various sites and the booklets and they all say that the first couple of weeks should see a large weight loss, my sister lost 14 pounds her first week, but mine is minuscule.

What am I doing wrong I am in dire straights it’s bad enough having to cope with not eating normal food and having to drink all the water to find that after all that effort it’s not made much difference it’s really getting me down & it’s only been two weeks.

Any advise would be much appreciated.

:cry::confused: :wave_cry:

How much water are you drinking? I find that if I drink too much, I can gain or have small losses.

Also get your CDC to do your measurements, I find that I have a fairly large loss but don't lose inches and then a small loss but lose inches.

Do you have much to lose? If you haven't got much to lose, you probably won't have such large losses every week....

Hi Lizzylocket

I have been drinking my 4 pints a day and putting a little extra in my shakes/soups as I am not a big drinker as a rule and this is the most I’ve drank in my whole life so it’s a bit of a shock.

I have not been measured yet so I am pinning all my hopes on this when I go and see my counsellor.

I am 17 stone 8 pounds at the moment so have got a lot more weight to lose.

Hi hon, when is your weigh in. I only lost 4 lbs on my first week and I had stuck to it religiously so I was a bit disappointed. Second week however I lost 7lb, even though the day before my scales at home ( I know I shouldn't look but I'll kick one habit at a time ) only said 3.

Keep with it, give it four weeks and see how you have done over all.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks Trace2004 for the encouragement it’s much appreciated.

I will keep it up but it’s very disheartening when your not seeing the results for your hard work and I have a good weighing scale so mine is very reliable I weighed myself just before I went to see my councillor last week and it was the exact same as her reading was.

oh my god, I thought I was the only one who noticed this water thing. If I have more than 3 to 4 liters a day including teas and coffees then my losses are less. Overhydration is bad kids!!

4 pints? I'm told to drink 4 litres!! Which equates to 7-8pts....

I think it all depends on the individual, I am one of the unlucky ones who hangs on to water - always have! If I drink around 5 pints a day - not including shakes, tea etc then I'm ok. Any more and I either don't lose or lose very little....

Green tea is allowed and it supposedly increases your metabolism, you could try drinking that.

Oshia, I did exactly the same in wk 2. I WAS a terrible daily weigher and for about 6 days I lost a 1lb. I got really down about it and questioned others like you. Then day before my weigh-in I lost another 3lb's and my jeans definatly felt looser. I felt like my body just took longer to realise what was going on. I've learned my lesson now. Daily weighin's can motivate you in that hard first week, but then weekly is a must. Its a sure fire way to get you to give up mid-week or cheat! One in four weeks will be different aswell. We can't not loose weight on this diet! I know its hard but try not look at your scales until weigh-in with CDC and then like others say, it seems to be weight sometimes and inches others. Stick with it, give yourself 3 wks at least. And a lot of us have been exactly were u are now (and learnt our lesson) be patient hon.
