6 weeks in

Hi all

I started SW at the end of January this year and think I will be on weigh in number 6 this week. I've had ups and downs (literally!) losing a decent amount one week to be followed with a small gain of half a pound the next.

Last week however I earned my half a stone award and I feel brilliant! I never realised 7lbs could make such a difference but my clothes fit better and I even bought some jeans... I haven't worn jeans since I was about 14 weeks pregnant and my little boy is now 18 months old!

I'm actually enjoying SW... I feel in control whilst being able to eat anything I want. I'm making different choices with food and drink. I think it helps that there is a small group of us at work doing SW and we help and encourage each other along the way.

So onwards and downwards my weight goes! Looking forward to chatting some more x

Well Done huni

xx

A big well done to you :happy096: Half-a-stone is a huge achievement - and it's wonderful that you can see the difference in your clothes already. I'm a great believe in slowly and steadily.

Here's to the next 7lbs!

Well done, you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I started on jan 5th, and haven't looked back. I did gain 1 week but know why and that made no difference to my "mind set"
I've just had WI no. 9 and have lost 2st 5lb so far but as Iwas soooooooo big to start with my losses are going to be big.
Anyway, keep up the good work and remember, If you hadn't joined SW how much would you weigh now!?

Well done and what a good start! :D
It's great that you have support from friends, although SW can be done without people even realising you are on a diet ( I kept it quiet for ages ) it's great to be able to discuss hints and tips with those close to you and they can pick you up if you are having a rough day, that's so supportive.
Keep up the good work - here's to the next half stone. x

Well done on your half a stone!!! Having your clothes feel better on you, definitely keeps your motivation alive.
Good luck!!!

Thank you for the very warm welcome!

I think the time was right to start SW when I did... in the last year my parents have both tried to spur me into weight loss by telling me how big I looked! The only effect it had was to make me feel more depressed and turn to yet more food and chocolate :(

I hope that when I go up to see them mid April I will be able to shock them with a slimmer me... when I saw them at New Year I weighed 16st (I lost a little bit myself before starting SW)

I have one question about SW... what is the 'Star Week'? Is it the week before AF arrives or the week of AF?

Now there's a question!!

IMO it's whichever week you feel bloated and either sts or gain weight.

For me, it's the week before when my boobs feel twice the size and my belly bloats (sorry if that's an overshare guys! :p) but for others it may be the week of AF.

Congrats on your weight loss:happy096:. In April you are sure to "shock" your parents. I love this board and find so much inspiration. I'm sure you will too:D

I haven't said to anyone that I am doing SW - only my hubby knows. My mum hasn't even caught on yet so that's saying something. It's probably because I always seem to be eating!

It's great isn't it!! Not that it needs to be kept a secret but it's good that we can, while we feel the need! :)

Jaylou thank you for the explination - my consultant didn't explain it and I didn't feel comfortable asking.

I've told my mum I'm doing SW so she better notice! My dad on the other hand just better not follow up his 'you've lost weight' with 'but you need to lose more!'

I *heart* that I can eat as much as I like! I've done WW in the past, hated it and only went about 4 times. I don't feel like I'm on a diet and find that I'm not craving stuff which is great.

You are very welcome - that's the great thing about this forum, it seems no question is off limits and someone will always give you an answer.
Take care x

That's the reason I love forums... it seems it never matters that you don't 'know' the people you can ask what you want and nearly always get an answer!

Well done. A lot of my family are like your parents. Sometimes their words do more harm than good (and often more than they intend)

Well done on your weight loss so far :)
