What doesn't kill me.....
Hey Guys
Over the past few weeks I've read several articles on how eating breakfast plays a major role in weight loss. Obviously I drink a shake every morning on my way to work for breakfast. But all the articles have said the same thing: That in order to jump start your metabolism, breakfast should be within an hour of waking. :8855:
Unfortunately, I wake up at 5:45am, and start getting ready for work... at 6:20, i wake up Ayleigh to get her ready for school. I get her downstairs at about 6:45, and she takes her nebulizer treatment and then I nag her to eat breakfast until we need to go.. somewhere between 7:05 and 7:15. I drop her off a school where we she has this strange routine that she needs to go through before I can leave the daycare without her screaming and in tears... (it involves her favorite stuffed hippo.. don't ask :8855: ) I'm out of the day care at about 7:30 and then I make a quick stop at Wawa for my bottle of water and cigarettes and I'm on the road for the next 45 mins or so to work.
Now that i've ran you through my morning schdule, lol... I don't drink my shake until 7:45 in the morning. That's two hours after i've woken. Now, at about 9:30.. my stomach starts talking.. and I hold out until about 10:30 to eat my morning snack. It's entirely feasible to drink my shake early, but then as I typically get hungry 2-3 hours after I've drank it.. that would leave me entirely ravenous for my snack and or lunch. And when I'm ravenous... I'll eat everything I see. :8855:
So my question is... do you think that if I ate something else in that one hour window.. something small like a piece of string cheese... that I would be benefiting my diet more... even though I'm essentially adding an extra 100 cals? I dunno, there is science behind this article...and anything that helps is always a plus.. but I'm just afraid that if i drink my shake that early, I'll be super hungry beyond control.
Opinions please!
