Day One... Back on Cambridge

Firstly, i would like to say what a wonderful site this is!

Back in September last year i did lighterlife and managed to go from 17st1 to 13st in less than 3 months, however i didn't manage to get to management due to money issues i had to stop, i started cambridge and also applied to become a councellor last Feb, after what seemed like forever including lost applications, non returned phone calls, no course dates availableetc i finally became a cambridge councellor in Dec 2006!
I already have 9 customers and am so pleased to see them all doing so well already (most started just after xmas so are in week 3).

In Sept we put a new kitchen in our flat though due to major "issues" with supplier it took right up until beginning of Jan to finish so we quite literally lived on takeaway and eating at other peoples houses! i have managed to rack up a HUUUGE 2st 6lb weight gain since xmas 05 to xmas 06 most of it being since sept!

So here i go again, day 1 of my Cambridge Diet! all i can think about is food! i have drank 9 1/2 pints of water so far, had one soup and am looking forward to trying the new broccoli and cheese flavour for tea tonight!

I have persuaded my boss to allow me to work through my lunch breaks and finish early for the rest of the week so i don't get tempted by food when i have a lunch break!

Does anyone have any tips on how to get through the first few days, last time seemed to fly by but then i was very low and very motivated this time i seem to be struggling more!

Hi Gina,

I am on day 3 today and feel great. What got me through the first few days was loads of reading, nice hot baths and early nights.

Hope this helps hun x

Hi Gina,

I hope that is 9x 1/2 pints rather than 9 & 1/2 pints - you will burst for sure! :)

There is no secret formula to all this - but for sure, once you have done Cd - its a whole lot harder to do a second time. As a CDC, you will know that it is better to restart on say 790 rather than SS - if you are not doing this, you will make things harder for yourself than they need to be. I have restarted having lost 6 stone last year, and had regained about the same as you - but keeping it in perspective, you know why, you know how to fix it and you know you can. Try the 790 plan for at least your first week, and as your confidence and will returns (and weight lowers) you can try SS. I am dipping inand out of both whcih is working for me although I am sure a CDC will tell its not the best thing to do. You know the score, keep glugging the water, stay focused and every day will get easier..........you've done it, you can do it again. :)

Keep up the hard work and dont let your resolve slip.

My final words of admiration are that its is really refreshing to come across yet another CDC who actually uses the diet............many may have a long time ago but do not now......

Thanks for the reply , you are right it's probably not a good idea to mix the two steps, thought it won't actually harm you, i have started on SS, naughty i know! I love the Cambridge Diet and tell everyone about it! (even before i was a councellor) I am determined to do it, perhaps you are right and i am pushing myself too hard starting straight off with SS, (perhaps i need to learn to practise what i preach! ha) right good idea, i shall do the 790 programme for a week then go for SS!
