How do you make the CD jelly?

Just tried to and it was a huge mess, the mix a mousse formed horrible clumps on top of the water, really disgusting. Is there a partifular way of making it? Thanks!
 
I used to make it using 500 mls cold water, 1.5 scoops Mix-a-Mousse, 1 teaspoon water flavouring and a couple of drops of food colouring (either orange or red depending on flavour) to make it look good.

Blitz in a blender/smoothie-maker for a minute or so, pour into a large bowl and leave in the fridge for a couple of hours to set.

You'll find it comes out looking quite 'frothy' but separates after standing in the fridge. The frothy bit stays on top and the jelly bit is underneath but both are edible.
