Tesco Light Choices tetras

Hi everyone! I'm new to Slimfast, having lost weight last year on the Cambridge diet. I was doing a Cambridge plans which was two meal replacements a day plus snacks and dinner, and it seems that Slimfast is much the same but a lot cheaper [it's £2.00 for a single Cambridge product!]. When I was getting my Slimfast stuff today in Tescos I noticed they had own brand strawberry and chocolate tetrapaks. I loved Cambridge tetras. Are these ones nice? Has anyone combined them with Slimfast products and noticed an effect, good or bad, on their weight loss? Curious to know if they're worth getting.

i used to use them instead of slim fast as they were so much cheaper, but tescos upped the prices and you can get slim fast cheaper in other places - check out teh 'slimfast on offers' thread. if they arent on offer anywhere then i get the smoothies from boots as you get points and if youre a member of the boots health club you get them for half price (smoothies only).
i liked teh tesco ones, they tasted better than slim fast i think but are high in carbs... if that makes a difference to you.. i'm trying to cut down on carbs.

i didnt notice any difference swapping or alternating either products :) and have lost over 3 stone in 4 months with both of them so cant be bad!!

Thanks, that's very helpful. I looked at the sugar content of the Tesco tetras after your tip about carbs, and they contain 39% of your daily recommended sugar intake! I don't worry about carbs as such, but I do aim to eat a low sugar diet, especially when I'm trying to be healthy. I will keep using these tetras, but definitely not more than one a day. You'd think they could replace some of that sugar with sweeteners, wouldn't you?

Wooooo I never noticed the sugar content! i know slim fast put sweetners in.. yeah you wud have expected tesco to too!

I use the Tesco stuff, it's now cheaper again than Slimfast in my tesco.

I tried the low-carb chocolate once and it was vile!

I have 2 shakes a day plus a decent sized meal (up to about 900 calories).

yeah the low carb ones are horrid! wudnt recommend the taste! i had one for breakfast and one for lunch then normal tea bit lower calories
