SW when you are pregnant?

Hi,

My friend and I are doing SW together but not going to any classes.

She has recently found out that she is pregnant and her doctor has said that she shouldn't diet when she is pregnant.

She is worried that she is already over weight and doesn't want to stop SW.

Is it ok to continue?
Can you have any more extras when you are pregnant/recently given birth etc?

Hey, its ok to do slimming world when pregnant.. tell your person who takes the classes.. i guess it depends how near goal she is and everything.. but i only have an extra healthy A a day.. no extra sins cos you dont actually need any.. lol.. you just think you do sadly.. =(.. lol

I would have thought there wouldnt be any problems with that tbh.. some drs do say you shouldnt diet.. but on the otherhand my consultant told me i should diet.. lol..
I think its what she feels best with.. sw will make sure she eats well and gets what she needs..

I think doctors worry that dieting means that you're not getting all of your nutritional requirements for the day as dieting often means cutting food groups out - as we all know, SW doesn't work like that, which is why it's safe to continue while you're pregnant.

For the record, Slimming World is the only weight loss plan approved by the Royal College of Midwives. I'd recommend you get to a class with your friend if she wants to continue following Slimming World through her pregnancy to ensure she is following the plan properly and to get all the extra pregnancy related information that will be made available.
