I'm a fat pig!

Well i've had enough. For the past 4 days i have been eating sooo much rubbish and i am in tears. I can't see to stick to any form of diet/healthy eating. I lost 2.5 stone a couple of yrs ago on WW but have put it all back on and more. I keep trying to get back onto the wagon but fail everytime. I am sick of counting points!
I joined SW a while ago but only went to one class as i couldn't get my head round it as i was so used to counting points. I go on holiday in less than a month and i am dreading it rather than looking forward to it.
I'm at a loss as to what to do. SW looks like a good plan but having done WW for so long i am still in points mode. Sorry for the moan i am so depressed.

hey don't be so hard on yourself! We all have blow outs and the best thing that you can do is to get back on to your plan. It took me a while to find a "diet" that suited and it is defo SW all the way for me now! I had tried WW before joining SW and it takes a wee bit of getting used to but its fab once you get the hang of it. Plus you can eat plenty free comfort foods like potatoes and pasta etc to fill up on if you feel down.

Hiya hun,

I've been inthe same boat, I've done ww about 4 times over the years but could never stick to it 100%, I think in total I lost about 12lb.

I started sw tuesday and so far so good, it does take a few days to get your head around, I'm still not there yet but I'm liking this diet much better then ww so far, not been hungry once.

Give it a go and go to a class, you must stay though, it does help

Hiya

As Gail says, go back to class. Explain to the consultant that you are struggling to get out of the habit of counting points. He/she has probably heard it 10, 20, 30 times before.

That way you will have support at the end of the phone as well as on here xx

Oh hun I know exactly what you mean. I've done WW for the last 6 years on and off (sometimes successfully, sometimes not) and I've now decided that I needed a boost and a complete change so have joined SW. It is hard to give up counting in points etc but you need to study your SW books and try sooo hard to re-focus. I've only been on it a week but think it's a great plan, with lots of variety and scope to have your treats.
Go back to class, talk to your consultant and try and get your head around it. It really does work.
Good luck and please, please stick with it!!!!

Right, deep breath!
As the others have said, go back to the class and speak with your Consultant...or give them a call/email.
Unfortunately after doing a plan for so long, its harder to adapt to something different, but it can be done.
Have a look at the diaries above to give you some ideas as well as the recipes.
Dont give up, you will get there in the end.

I know what you mean hunni, Ive just swapped over from WW to SW and am following it ok but Im also finding Im pointing everything in a WW way to.lol.

LIke has been said go see the consultant and just take it one day or even meal at a time, you can do it hunn im sure.xxx

Try not to be so hard on yourself, it is almost impossible to do anything if you're telling yourself that you're a "fat pig". So what if you're heavier than you'd like, or if you've eaten a lot of chips or whatever, you're not an axe murderer and you still deserve to be happy and healthy!
Ring your SW consultant and have a nice chat with them, and remember it's not a sprint it's a marathon...
I hope you feel better and good luck with trying lots of nice SW recipes!

Thanks for all your lovely replies. I am going to dig out the books i got and have a proper study. I am going to start going back to the gym and properly address my many issues with food. I can do this as i have done it before its just getting together the motivation and the willpower. Does anyone else here have a problem with emotional eating?

6 weeks ago and I could have written that... Honestly! I did WW back in 2004/05, lost 3 stone and got to goal (and was happier than ever!!). Within a year of getting to goal on WW I had put most of it back on, and now in 2009 I started SW 2 stone heavier than I was when I started WW :(

Ever since reaching goal in 2005 I was trying to get my head back around WW and repeatedly falling off the wagon BIG time. I can literally tell you the points value of anything and have the points formula in my head for on-the-spot points calculations(!) - but, in actual fact, I have a much less healthy attitude now towards food than I did before I first tried WW.

Don't get me wrong, WW is fab if it works for you (and it does work for MANY people), but for me it helped create and cerment some very bad habits and a cycle of starving and then going waaaaay off the rails. Everytime I went one or two points over my daily allowance I would think "Well, that's it then, blow it, I'll start again tomorrow...". Each time this happened would be another example of failure - I went into a downward spiral and became even more negative about the whole thing and my eating habits.

And then my best friend lost loads of weight and recommended SW; she praised it so much and had done so well it convinced me to give it a go. Even though I felt like a bit of a WW traitor!

Getting into to SW after 6 years of WW-ing was tough, and I felt I couldn't trust the free foods or that I would eat too much and not lose any weight. But after my 1st WI (I lost 3.5lbs) I couldn't believe how much I had eaten (of healthy foods!) and how much I had enjoyed the plan. It's helping to re-educate my bad habits and giving me the freedom TO eat - rather than a constant feeling of guilt and panic over whether or not I would have enough points left at the end of the day...

I honestly cannot recommend it enough and would encourage you to FORGET WW completely whilst you are trying SW - just so that you give it a fair shot. What have you got to lose? Try it for just 1 week without thinking of points once - the worst that can happen is you will stay the same (which, if you're struggling with WW will probably be the case anyway).

I'm on here most days if you ever want to chat, and this is a lovely supportive board with heaps of friendly and wise people who give fab tips, advice, and support - so do use the board if there's anything you're not sure about.

GOOD LUCK and stay in touch.

I can't add anything to what the others have said in terms of useful advice, but I wanted to offer some moral support and a *hug* anyway. :) Good luck!

Does anyone else here have a problem with emotional eating?

Oh yes. If I'm tired, miserable, upset, blue, hormonal, premenstrual etc etc I could eat for England and often do.

I've started keeping a diary here (at the top) and am hoping that will get me through my next premenstrual time as last time I put on 5lb in 2 weeks x
