Isn't this diet so much easier than the rest?

Is it me or does anyone think this is the easiest diet? I've tried them all and the one advantage this has over all the rest is that it doesn't involve food.

Normally you would be racking your brains to think of low calorie/low fat options to eat. You would have to go shopping for this food, trying desperately to avoid the cake aisle and then have to cook the meal. Perhaps I am just lucky that I live with my daughter who started doing this with me and therefore there is no food and no cooking in the house. I am sure those of you with families to cater for must have a different experience to tell.

Lou xx:D

Lorrayne, I too find this diet really easy, and I still cook for the kids! Once your in 'The Zone' it is so easy to do. I don't even think about food that much anymore. Well done and good luck with your weigh-in on Monday. xx

For me the diet was relatively easy to stick to.

However, do not think lightly of it. Because when you start doing steps up to maintenance and eat ''real'' food again this is 100x harder than if you did a diet that incorporated food to begin with!!!!

Well done for that Tracey, cooking for the kids and not being tempted. You and hubby are both doing really well.

I agree that once you are in The Zone, it is a lot easier to stick to and that applies to any diet but its not having the hassle of thinking about food and menus etc which is really helping me!

Same here, we both work from home, well actually live where we work iykwim, and at the end of a busy day I don't have to think 'what am I going to cook for tea tonight??' also no washing up is a bonus :) and only a quickie around the supermarket.

Cooking for the kids is easy as they have a snack at the childminders and just want something quick and easy. Mind you Libby had a friend over for tea a few weeks into the diet and I had to cook them a roast dinner! My fave...but I resisted the temptation!

Once i got the 1st day over i have stuck to it 100% and finding it ok.

I still cook for my husband and children and tho it would be nice to eat their food it hasnt crossed my lips once.

I do still fill hungry at times but not sure if that is just habit rather than physical.

What i am really loving is the quick weight loss. It makes it all worth it.

I think the reason i find this diet easier to stick to is because there is no room for error, you have to be so strict with yourself. With other diets you think 'one mouthful wont hurt, or a bit of this won't matter' But you dont even have that option with this, its all or nothing, and you know that you'll lose days of hard work if you do!
So definately easier for me, and rapid weight loss..bonus!

I totally agree. I just made a bacon and egg sarnie for hubby (one of our favourite Saturday treats) and I wasn't even tempted to stick my finger in the egg, lol. I love them too - but my brain knows it hasn't got to have any food, so I'm just not tempted. Weird, isn't it?! :)

I would say its relatively easy to follow because the rules are simple. Its a dream diet for those who live alone. I live with my fiance and sometimes its a real battle of wills not to have a little taste of what I cook for him Ironically I've been cooking him the most gorgeous, over the top gourmet meals. I go out of my way to buy the best ingredients and I don't compromise on quality of ingredients. I even took an hour trip to Borough market to buy a particular cut of meat! LOL!! I've been making fresh breads, quiche lorraine, pot roasts, crumbles, chocolate puddings, JAM!! curries, barbecued spatchcock chicken, etc etc... I think I'm just cooking all the foods I fantacise about, I figure if I can't eat it, at least I can smell it :D

My fiance's really happy and supportive of me throughout this diet though! I wonder why....

Haha, he'll have you like Posh Spice before you know where you are! :D (And when will we be seeing you on Masterchef then, lol?!)

it is an easy diet, however when i did it i lived at home and my mam loves nothing more than feeding her family so me and dad have trouble on the diets, im on CS cos i cant afford CD but this time around its easier cos im at uni and 300 miles from home, so its all down to me

Hi Slimbride
I also found I wanted to cook for others, my friend who is also on CD has taken up baking. cakes puddings etc she has never baked in her life!! I think it because, all us over weight people know the joys of lovely food and because our brains have clicked into not eating we are trying to spread that joy too others??

Wow, you must have a will of iron. You will be a slim bride but getting more hubby than you bargained for at this rate lol. I did a supermarket shop for the first time today. Cat food, bottles of sparkling water, some loo rolls, washing up liquid (although we dont have any washing up at the mo) and that was that. Didn't occur to me to put any food into the trolley. I could definitely get used to this.

I second this.

Enjoy the good times and make the most of them but don't let your guard down for one moment...there are loads of strugglers and restarters for a bloody good reason ;) :D

I mean this really kindly but CD is easy peasy until you SS 100% for the week but only lose 1lb or stay the same. Or move up the plans. Or have an emotional crisis. Not wanting to rain on anyone's parade as it's lovely to see all the sparkly enthusiasm but forewarned is forearmed :)

LOL, I would love to do one of those cooking shows! I used to own my own catering company so cooking is my thing. I think that's why my fiance is marrying me! Men are simple, food, sex and peace of mind is all they want lol. My fiance is 6 foot 4 and built like a swimmer with not an ounce of fat despite hoovering unbelievable amounts of food... I think I hate him... Humpf!

ITA, it is how we handle those moments that determine how well we can do. We hear a lot from 2nd weekers who are disappointed by a small loss compared to wk 1, to the point of wanting to give up. Trying to go too fast is also an area to be careful of. Some wks will be great loses, some small, none or going up. It all evens out.

I have to say that i'm really finding it easy (she says 1 week in...). The only thing that I have found hard is getting people to understand certain aspects of it. Like why I can only have peppermint tea and not regular and little things that they think of as healthy are no nos on low carb.

Wise words indeed. We are only human after all. My biggest fear at the moment is getting bored with the food, but as you say, a crisis could happen and I might just reach out for a snack! This is why forums like these are so good, I can see people gaining encouragement all the time. But yes, we do have to be realistic.
