Made a chicken soup in mine earlier today. It said the valve would pop up when it reached pressure (it did) and that the weight would rise and spin and steam would come out. Well it didn't rise but every 30 or 45 secs it would spin crazily, hiss loudly and blow out gusts of steam and then settle back down and repeat again after another 30-60 secs. It was like it was building up pressure, releasing and building it up again....although the pressure indicator always remained up.

It worked fine and soup was done after 8-10 mins but does it sound normal to you or should I take it back? The manual says the weight should turn slowly and steam come out of the steam holes.

What's your opinion?

Also, if I want to do a lamb kleftiko stew and the lamb will take longer than the veg, should I cook lamb up at full pressure for a few mins, release pressure, add veg and then bring back up to pressure or just bung it all in at once?

(PS - I only got the cheapy Tower one from Argosf or £20 - thinking maybe I should've spent an extra £8 and got the Prestige one!)

Sounds normal to me, mine does that then I hold the weight up and let all the steam out, pretty sure mums does it too. cant help with recipes sorry xx
