Saggy Skin

Bunnyg

Determined
Well, I was basically wondering whether those that have lost loads of weight have experienced saggy skin?

I'm not worried enough that I would stop doing the diet, but I was just wondering what to expect!

I know that some GP's recommend you for tummy tucks on NHS if you've lost a certain amount of weight so hopefully if I do get it then I can have this done, but I can avoid it all the better!

Any experiences would be really gratefully received!

iwould be very interested in replies too!

I have still too start cambridge, still considering!
how you finding it bunnyg?

Hi there,

Ive lost 9.5 stone and the saggy skin isn't too bad, the only place I have any is my lower tummmy, ive been going to the gym to try and remedy it x

Thanks wecandothis and well done for that weight loss! I still think losing 9 stone has got to be worth the saggy skin surely? I have 11 stone to lose and I am going to look much much better than I do now, even if I do have any saggyness. Any other's experiences would be interesting too please!

Caroline, I am absolutely loving it so far!! I have sailed through the first 4 days, which is so wonderful! I just can't wait to get on the scales on Sunday now! Good luck with your journey!

whay a great loss? well done!

I would put up pwith saggy tum for that!

thanks bunny g! no doubt see you on here!

A lady i work with lost 6 stone a few years ago, she is recovering from her NHS tummy tuck at the moment. She was given bariatric surgery at the same time to help her maintain her loss. The surgeon agreed to fund both because she had kept the weight off for so long. I found it a bit strange that he would reduce the size of someones stomach after they had lost the weight but not before when they really needed it. He has offered her further surgery in the future to tidy up her thighs and upper arms all because she maintained her loss. She looks great by the way.

wow, im surprised gp referred her to have it on nhs- when i'd gone to gp (unrelated matter) i dropped into conversation that id lost 7.5 stone at that point and he didn't even acknowledge it !

I was pretty shocked too cos ive sat sobbing in my dr's surgery pleading for help with my weight only to be told that our authority doesnt fund it. well some one lied.

Sure is postcode lottery, Im lucky, I can get reffered if I want but if I lived at my mums 30 mins away not a chance!

I have saggy skin on my tum but I dont care, Im fitter, healthier and happier than in years, its also a reminder of where I have come from.

Saggy skin cant kill you!!!!!!!

I will remove myself off my soap box and quietly leave the room :)

i have wondered about this too, yesterday i went to my GP about my BP & as it a new surgery for me we had a chat about the history behind my BP & the subject of my weight was bought up (by me) he said i should be proud of myself (which i am) so i bi the bullet & asked about a tuck on the nhs if i needed it as i've still got about 3 1/2 st to go yet & he said, quite nicely, it would be hard to get, they would have to prove psycological effects & that meant me seeing psycologists etc :(
oh well, might just have to keep my battle scars then !
xx:)

This is a worry of mine too!!!
I know it isnt the end of the world but I would be desperate for a tummy tuck and a boob job. My hubby has agreed to fund one(knowing him it will be the boobs:p ).

I have lots of excess skin on my tummy anyway-I had 2 sets of twins in 2 years and they have gave me a huge twin skin lol:D

I completely agree. Although it can effect someone's confidence, especially when you're single. Or put another way (from a personal point of view); one spends her life single and attribute that to one's physical appearnce. One tries to remedy one's appearance by losing weight only to find that one looks hideous naked ..... and so the merry-go-round of self loathing, lack of confidence starts again. Thats my greatest worry; looking good in clothes, meeting chaps only to have to coldshoulder them because my nakedness looks awful. (no i don't go sh*gging men at the drop of a hat ... lol! :D :) :D)

CC xx
