I am currently sat upstairs in my office avoiding the dining room as my hubby:mad: has brought home fish & chips because he is off out and didn't want to cook this evening ( his turn) He warned me to stay upstairs to avoid the delicious smell but I am now on my hands and knees poking my head round the corner to the stairs gulping in lungfuls of fishey air, I may even start to cry........how sad am I . I am on day 32 and am 100% ss but this is enough to drive me to failure.
I am so pathetic really......sorry needed to share my moment with others that will understand.

don't worry you are only human , and it will go the feeling of wanting the chips , my son came home from school with them last week , the smell was yummy, you will feel like this from time to time

Hi

Im with you on it!! I completely sympathise :sigh:

Last week was a nightmare for me (blamed it on totm) every smell just drove me crazy and i did end up crying that i was going to give in. I spent the other night sniffing my fingers for ages after cutting onions!!! (trying to imagine delicious curries) pathetic i know.

Im on day 34 and have found this diet a challenge. im so worried that when i get to my ideal weight i will have missed all the good (but really bad for you) foods so much, that i will start eating them again!
:(

try to be strong and stay online to take your mind off it.

Good luck

Anni

you have done so well! its no mean feat doing 100% and for 32 days - just brilliant! I have to agree, fish and chips... they are the work of the devil, and i have to put up with it every friday at work. but i think they always smell better than they taste.

think of all that nasty horrible grease they were fried in and then think about smearing a pound of lard on your bum and tum......yuk nasty horrible! yummy yummy choc mint shake!

be strong....be kung fu fighting strong!

There is a guy that i work with that gets fish and chips or a kebab or a pizza every single lunch time so i have to constantly put up with the smells of all the foods i miss.

The other day my OH was ill so being the lovely girlfriend i am i went to the award winning fish and chip shop nearby and got him some.

I found it so hard not to lick his plate lol! They are by far he best chips i have ever had and not once have i had a bad fish from there, but then i saw all the grease all over his mouth and fingers and it made me feel a little sick.

Just got to push through the temptations soon you arent going to have to restrain yourself as much.

xx

Think we're all in agreement here... yup, work of the devil!

My wife came home Sunday night with a doner kebab loaded with garlic sauce and chips! Can't say i was too happy. Even her sitting in the dining room i could smell it.

I have to say I think bread is the work of the devil. It's so innocent, you think it's good for you. And tastes so nice too, especially with cheese (and sweetcorn)! But it isn't. It's bad.

I managed to lock myself away and my OH washed all offending cutlery so I could lick anything before I set foot downstairs. It is funny how certain smells do start the drool effect. Thanks to everyone who helped with my sanity last night :D

You can beat the smell spay deoderant or perfum to hide it .I lost all my weight while cooking fish and chips for few thousand peeps I know how much it can pull you but you can resist stay with us we will beat the evil food smells .
This is while i watch cookery programs lol:8855:

IT IS a fantastic smell, but at the end of the day, it is a lump of fat, and that is how you need to think about it to succeed. You're not depriving yourself, you're choosing not to eat it

I haven't had fish and chips for ages!

At work, everyone orders a takeaway. We have menus from everywhere and every night I have to watch and smell them eating chinese, pizza, burgers, chips, kebabs, quesedillas etc. Basically, any takeaway food you can think of it'll be there.

Horrible. :sigh:

Do we sit next to the same guy??!

I have the same problem - but its not just lunchtime - its continously throughout the day!

Just think of it as reprogramming your brain so that when you are on food, your brain won't automatically want to eat some?!

Went to town today , crist the smell of chips was lovely , drives you mad lol

Have any of you seen the Paul McKenna thing when he does the craving buster technique? I can't remember it all but he got one woman to imagine her favourite food all covered in hair out of the plughole...she went off it (what a surprise!)

Yes he does one where you tap the thought out so it fades , now just think of that when you are out shopping alone and coming across fast food on your own , lol Also he says to think of the food covered in maggots too , lovely lol

Aww, this thread is making me want fish and chips now. I don't even like chips!!

Have been wanting various things to eat (toast pls?) so to take my mind off it I thought I'd do the smart thing and go have a bath till the craving past....

I found myself subconsciously sniffing my shampoo and conditioner - it smells like cookies :(

*crazy moment* CD porridge time methinks :p
