I started tuesday morn, finding it good as went straight from doing idiot proof diet by india knight(high protein), dreading weekend as i asociate them with treats.also when does the boredom tend to kick in ?

As long as you keep varying your meals and dont deprive yourself then you shouldnt really get bored.

You can still have treats at the weekend, just syn them. What do you consider treats? xx

I usually eat loads more at weekends, but keep the majority of it sin free. I still feel like i'm eating loads and enjoying it, but actually it's usually a whole lot less than if i were to eat what i wanted off the plan!

One of the things I find helps us a lot at the weekends is doing things like making us a really fabulous lunch - something like home made beefburgers with loads of fresh salad (red) or with syn free chips (extra easy) - having something really great to look forward to at lunchtime seems to stop me straying in the morning, and being well filled up at lunchtime seems to help for the afternoon. There's also a lot of mileage in having in plenty of fruit and free yogurt, so you don't do any damage even if you do feel the need to "pick"!

I'm the same as u chic as the weekends for us was always take aways!!

but i hav now decided my own chicken curry (with loads of onion, mushroom peppers etc and loads of boiled rice!!) is actually nicer than then same old chinese one every sat nite and much better for us too!!:D
i am really getting into the swing of cooking more doin SW as so much good food is free!!
also you cant beat a big plate of spaghetti bolognese :D

i'm on ee by the way but u can still hav both on the other plans just not as much as u want of the meat & pasta/rice ;) xxx

Hi, I'm new here too (well actually I've been lurking for weeks, but this is my first post (Hello!!)). I'm approaching my 4th weekend on SW, and it's going really well so far, but on my first weekend I gained, and on the second I was as miserable as sin because I felt deprived of my usual Friday night bender. I then realised that I mostly spend my weekends in front of a computer, and unlike weekdays I don't get up and move about. I can't say I particularly enjoy exercise but last weekend, having seen some good results from sticking to the plan, I felt more empowered to control my emotions and enthusiastic to face the challenge. So on Friday I enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine guilt-free, and then on Saturday I went shopping with a friend (lots of walking) and on Sunday I dragged my poor partner to Ikea (more walking). It wasn't a marathon, but it got me up and moving. We don't have a car, so this weekend rather than going to the Tescos metro up the road I'm going to walk the extra two miles to the larger supermarket. I'm keeping my enthusiasm alive by telling myself there will be a greater choice of products to choose from, and will potentially buy more and have more weight to carry the two miles back home again. I’m planning a home-cooked healthy Valentines meal on Saturday, so am concentrating on that particular challenge at the moment.

I must say I haven’t been looking forward to the weekends as much as I enjoy sitting about doing nothing and enjoying a drink - but then if I didn't I probably wouldn't be overweight!! So instead of dreading my free time I've been trying hard to find motivational aspects in the things I have to do (like a weekly shop or the housework) to make me go that little bit extra. One thing I have really enjoyed though is the extra time to experiment with cooking and try out new recipes.

I agree...keeping yourself busy at the weekends will keep you away from the things you shouldnt eat.
Try taking up a new hobby, going for long walks will all help.

Also, don't be so negative by asking 'how soon does the boredom set in', boredom will only set in if you allow it to, by keeping your meal choices varied and filling your free time with other activities that don't revolve around food you won't get bored

I haven changed my weekends too much at all if your goona drink do vodka diet coke or taboo and lemoneade and if your gonna have a curry just don't have rice if it's a kebab get a chicken kebab and syn it, don't deprive yourself too much or just like every other diet it won't work i try to keep my syns mid week to a minimum so i have an allowance on a weekend XXXX good luck

Do you find you still hav a good loss even if you save majority of syns up for weekend ! I have only used 10 since monday and get weighed monday @ 11.30 intending to use majority tomorrow night?

I save my syns for the weekend and I wi on a Monday.

Try not to worry too much because as long as you stick to plan the weight will come off. It doesn't always register at the time we want it (11.30am on a Monday morning, in your case for example) but it will continue to go down if you stick to the plan, free food, hex's, syns and all!

Thanks Fea! Its just this time round its not showing much on scales it my 4th weigh in this week! and ive only lost 3.5 lb in the past ive had really big losses! i do feel slimmer tho which sounds weird! lol x thanks again x

I absolutely know what you mean!

I'm into my 5th week and have lost 5.5lbs. I've lost that in a week on previous times on the plan.

But I think that maybe this time, because I'm taking it easy and really am looking at this as a lifestyle change rather than a diet that it's working for me, only slower than I had first thought.

I love my weekends, it's when I have a drink and me and OH used to have takeaways. Now I still have a drink but we make our takeaways. Curry tonight!

Good luck x
