Question for those who maintain

Yasmine

One last chance
First of all, well done to all of you who have reached target, you should all be proud.

I just want to know if any of you eat the things that you used to. You know like chocolates and things.

Do any of you still have take outs?

Or do you avoid these things all together?

Hi Yasmine, well done on your losses so far, they are great!! Well initially say for a month or two I really avoided the usual suspects like chocolate, etc. I did find that certain things just did not interest me any more like chips etc, not that I was ever a big fan of them but the thought of greasy food turned my stomach. Over time though I have incorporated some treats back in to my diet but I make sure I really want it first. Also if I have something nice I have to work out a bit harder or cut back the following day. HTH and good luck with the rest of your journey xx

Oh I get it. So it's like if you have something heavy, the next day you would work out to make up for it?

Sounds good to me. Yeah I heard that when you go back to eating some people just aren't into what they used to. I just hope I don't get put off by chips. I love em too much LOL.

How is your maintaining going and how long have you maintained? I would love to know.

Hi Yasmine,
I used to eat takeaways and chips. Chocolate and crisps would have been my treats of choice. Last year I spent 8 months on LT and lost 7st. Came off it last September (final wt: 8st 11lbs) I am now maintaining at around 9st. I have had no desire to go back to my old way of eating - I find greasy food like chips upset my stomach now whereas before I ate them for lunch and dinner. Same with cream cakes and chocolate. I am now a vegetarian and eat healthy foods most of the time. I cook now rather than get takeaways. I occasionally eat biscuits but not in the same quantities as previously. I enjoy eating healthy foods now (especially fruit).

i have planned out for my maintenance of 5 days through the week totally healthy no alcohol or sweets or anything. saturday lunch time will be the same. then saturday evening allow a takeaway/ or decent home cooked meal thats not exactly healthy and 4 pints of lager. sunday lunch a sunday dinner then sunday evening back to the healthy foods again

this with plenty of exercise should help me loose further still.

after I'd lost my weight on cambridge, I completely cut out refined sugar, so that;s anything with sugar in, and that has worked for me. I also avoid white bread, white rice and white pasta. I no longer seem to get cravings for them either
