Free Tinned Chilli

I make this in the slow cooker all of the time.

Free on Original or EE. Use quorn if having a green day.

Extra lean minced beef. I get mine from asda.
Tin of tomatoes. (and/or beans if on an EE day)
Garlic, onions, mushrooms, peppers, chillis/chilli powder, bovril for stock.
I sometimes fill it out with other veg such as carrot too.

i brown the mince, then drain the fat, then I put everything in the slow cooker (I only ever use a tiny amount of stock) and leave it in the slow cooker for approx 6 hours.

You can do the same on the hob though. I just add everything but the mince and tomatoes to the stock, leave to simmer for 20 mins until everything is softened. Then add the browned and drained mince and tomatoes and leave for another 10 mins or so.

Never thought of doing it in the slow cooker!

Morrisons do a lovely vegetable chili thats free on green and EE, iv'e added cooked quorm mince (on a green day) and beef mince on a EE day to it and put it in a dish and topped with mash and it's gorgeous. xxx
