Umm, I know this isn't what you are after, but which hotel are you going to? I am going all inc to The Savoy in Feb - I can't wait!

Personally the thought of being abstinent in an all inc situation sounds impossible to me. Don't forget you can still go the healthy option and swim like a maniac 8 hours a day!

Hi
Just thought I would drop a line to say I done an all inclusive holiday for a fortnight in Tunisia while on week 9 and 10 of LL, I wasn't sure what I would do, but once there I decided to stick to the programme although hard at times I did it, and felt really proud of myself afterwards and the bonus was it was the first holiday I had lost weight, I usually put on a stone, I am now week 20 into LL and 5 1/2 stone lighter and with 1 1/2 stone left to lose, I am so glad I stuck to it as their will be more holidays where I am slim. If you decide to eat why not have food packs during the day and a meal on the evening sticking to protein which might not effect your weight to much. Whatever you decide have a fantastic time I was in sharm last May and it was fantastic, good luck on whatever you decide x :)

We went to Sharm as well, last June - all inclusive for 2weeks. It was the start of the slippery road to putting on 2stone between June and now. I ate everything because "I'd paid for it" WTF???? and consequently when I got home knew I'd gained weight - but in denial didn't stand on the scales. I then went from bad to worse and ate, dieted, lost half a stone, ate, gained 10lb etc etc etc

I can't advise you - but know if I had the chance of going back - I'd definately take packs. The food was wonderful - and maybe a compromise like Horseclutter suggested where you have protein and salad or veg in the evening would work???

Where are you staying and which hotel??? Oh and have a lovely time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thankyou so much
i really appreciate your reply , i think im going to take all my clutter to do the programme and if i feel i cant manage , i will take the healthy low carb option at night , thanks allot

thanks beverley ,
this is my worry also , ive done so well and im terrified if i eat now it will destroy everything , i am going to take all my ll clutter ( book included :0)) and do my best , hey ! i managed at xmas with a house full of people and food so this must be easier than that , i dont really have the paid for it so ill eat it mentality now as i worked on the cruise ships for years and the sight of too many people nearly making themselves sick just because has put me off for life :D
im staying at the iberotel grand near the old town ( 2 km away , a nice daily walk !!)
either way i will have a fab time and try to stay adult and possetive whichever option i choose , as the blow it option was never really a contender :)

Think you are being very sensible Sue .... and I'm sure you'll have a lovely holiday and not be a miserable old bag - but a much trimmer slimmer happier one when you get home!!!

Enjoy the holiday and tell us all about it when you get back!

I have the same dilema in 9wks time. I am going to Sri Lanka for a month and I will be on week 12 when I go. I think I will go into development for a while anyway but I am of the mindset right now that I will abstain as why would I want to ruin all the hard work I have done in the first 12wks.

Putting that into practice might be a slightly different thing but heres hoping.

That's one reason I like this site so much, there's so many people with experience to ask for help.

I went abroad for a week in October, eight weeks into LL and took all my 'stuff' with me. My family were supportive and we adapted the holiday to cause me minimum inconvenience. I stayed abstinent and wrote out 'thought records' when feeling fed up or deprived! This helped to bring everything into focus for me and made me realise what I was doing it for. It is short-term discomfort for long-term happiness and health.

Our next holiday (already booked) will be a different ball game. I will be slim and healthy at last, and I will be able to wear lovely clothes, eat healthily through choice, and get active with the kids.

This is only possible because I have stayed focused and committed to the LL programme. I believe that YOU can do this too. You have already achieved so much so far, and you are well on the way to getting what you want

I read that you stayed abstinent throughout Christmas and New Year (and Center Parcs), I did too and I found that more difficult than the October holiday. If you achieved that, your holiday should be a doddle. It is important that you make certain IN YOUR MIND that you are going to stay abstinent because, any chink in your armour (saying to yourself "I might just have ... or ..." ) will allow you to start slipping down the slope of eating too much or the wrong stuff. Well, I may be wrong about you, but I certainly believe it of myself!

My belief if that I have already spent a fortune doing this programme and I would be a fool to throw it all away because of a holiday.

Holidays are SO MUCH MORE than eating. They are about relaxing, family time, fun, exploring new places, new experiences, etc.

Have a super time, stay abstinent and you will NEVER regret it!

Good Luck.

Have a great holiday whatever you decide. We'll be here waiting to find out how it went on your return.

:D thanks so much every one ,
this site really is great !!!
and thanks to you amanda!! youre so right , xmas was hard but pretty univentfull because of my mindset so this should be a walk in the park ,
before coming on tonight i sat with my hubby and discussed our plan for total absinence ( on my part of course !!:D ) and we have it sussed !!
basically im avoiding the restaurants pretty much as much as i can ( why torture myself unessesrily) the holiday is so much more than the food and i think now i have the right mindset im raring to go and come back even prouder than when i leave :D :D :D

What date are you going, Sukie?

Don't forget to take some copies of the thought record sheets with you, and any other literature which you can dip into when you are feeling vulnerable.

Have you got any back-copies of the LL magazine. I have them all and dip into them occasionally. I usually find something new to learn, and they help to keep me motivated.

If you haven't, ask your LL counsellor, she may have a few which she will lend you.

Have a super, relaxing time ...

I'd looked at this thread but had totally forgotten until now that I'm in a similar position as we're going skiing at half term. We always self cater and have lots of yummy French food - loads of cheese, wine, croissants, restaurants etc but I usually lose between 3-7 lbs in the week because I'm active and burning up more as it's cold. However this year I took the decision to SS and will enjoy the French cuisine in 2008 when I'm slim. I will send my family out to restaurants and stay in to eat soup! I'd rather not but I am determined to do this properly and get myself sorted for life. So sukie sue I know how you feel! Have a wonderful holiday and I hope you keep strong :D .

good luck enjoy, if you do feel tempted just have protein and salad then it wont effect ketosis, carbs should be banned totally. but hopefully you will SS through and come back lighter and glowing with a gorgeous tan. if you do slip and eat just asses why and move on dont beat yourself up about it and then focus on what you want and why.

good luck im dead jealous

Hi Sukie Sue

Been away for a few days and I am catching up with all the new threads.

In October last year, I too went away with my family to Egypt in an an inclusive hotel. It was roughly around the end of my foundation at Lighterlife and I had lost around 4.5 stone. I was petrified having only ate once for my brother's wedding.

I planned it well with my Counsellor and come the day, I had all my vanilla shakes in my case absolutely dreading not being stopped by customs and trying to explain that lot. !!
Anyway, got to Egypt did the packs for a couple of days but unfortunately it beat me in that I had paid a lot of money for the holiday and I was getting rather cranky and moody because I wasn't eating as the rest of the family was, the food in the restaurant was absolutely gorgeous. So I decided that I would put the packs away and enjoy my time with the family what bit of holiday I had left with them with the proviso that as soon as I stept foot on the plane at Sharm El Sheik back to Manchester I had to put my Lighterlife head back on and get back into the programme. OK I tried so hard to be good, but potatoes crept into the equation and also the gateauxs and delicious cakes and milk in my tea and coffee. When I got home I had put on 10lbs according to my scales although I didn't feel like I had done, but straight back on the packs 100% abstinant and when I got weighted at the meeting the following week I weighed in 1lb less than I did when I went out to Egypt!! I was elated. It showed me that you can have a good time, and one to be treasured with your family, but getting back onto the programme straight away works.

I hope it all works out for you in the end.

Carolyn, hearing you say that fills me with happiness. I'm planning on a little break to have some much needed social time with my friends at university... I'm not going anywhere, but I really want to take part in the eating/drinking/socialising while it's still here this year... and I'm glad to know you were able to jump off the wagon for a while and get back on and be back on track quickly.

Great news!!!

looking tanned and gorgeous.......

and slimmer !!!!!!!!
