Puddings Chickpea Buns

Firstly, the idea has come from the chickpea cake just tweaked it to my tastes and done them as buns instead of as a cake. Please try it, they are really nice unless my tastebuds are wierd.

I believe it to be around 3syns for the whole lot. And for that little extra why now try a tsp of lemon curd mixed together with a light laughing cow (1/2 syn) and make them into butterfly buns, scrummy scrummy.

1/ A can chickpeas drained and rinsed
2/ 1.5 cups canderel or sweetener
3/ 3 eggs
4/ 1tsp baking powder
5/ lemon juice from the bottle, roughly a tablespoon
6/ a sprinkling of vanilla & almond essence
6/ 2 tbsp lemon curd

Place all ingredients in a blender and blitz for a few minutes until nice and smooth. Now pour into cake buns until 3/4 full (makes 12) and bake for 30-40 minutes at gas 4 180°C or until golden brown.

how much sweetener roughly in grams any idea :)
 
thank you I have got them in the oven as we speak they smell really nice cant believe there so low syn are you sure lol :eek:
 
well I have to say they are yummy I added some cocoa powder to the second batch and its delis you can taste the chick peas so if you hate chick peas you prob wont like them lol but I really enjoyed and very low in syns thank you healthy as well :D
 
i give the peas a really good rinsing and i probably add more lemon juice than i should but it brings thru the lemon flavour, i cant taste any peas but then again my taste buds arnt the best. I bought miself a microwave loaf tin today so im gonna give it a whirl in that next.
 
yes think ill add more lemon next time to give more off a kick :)
 
im now wondering if we can make these using chickpeas what other tins out there will turn out like these, we should experiment and start a making cakes thread lol:)

yes but if we had said chick peas at one point lol you would have though erm no but you can never be too sure :D
 
These sound lush. I'm not keen on chickpea cake, but these do sound a good bit different. I haven't got enough sweetner in at the mo to try them. boo!
 
Ok ive just made miself an Aduki Bean Loaf Cake using the same ingredients here apart from the chickpeas.
Firstly this would fair better either in a flan dish or in cakes as it takes a little longer in the loaf tin.
Secondly ide cut back on the sweetener a little (maybe 1 cup)

Overall there sweet tasting, i cant taste the beans but the beans do have a nutty taste to em anyways.

Defo on the cake list for me, maybe a few raisins in the next batch.

ooh yummy have some off those may try was just thinking will make some chick pea buns tomorrow but need some sweeter:)
 
I made these buns, and they rose and smelt lovely. Peeled back the paper and they were wafer thin, they looked as though they would be a good 1" deep but no, what have I done wrong?:cry:
 
I made the chick pea cakes after dinner. Omg they are brilliant.
