I'm a Slimfast Newbie too

Hi Everyone

I started on Slim Fast last Sunday the 2nd Feb.

I'm finding it very easy at the mo but who knows a couple of weeks down the line!!!

I've got a friend who started on the lighterlife diet a few weeks ago and she is doing incredibly well but I can't afford the £80 a week so I thought I would give Slim Fast a go....what I like about it is that I can EAT a meal in the evening whereas my mate can't eat anything...can you imagine not chewing???

I love this site it makes you feel you are not alone while all around you your family are eating whatever they like.

I've got loads and loads to lose but feel in the right frame of mind to do it....I'm fed up with none of my 'skinny' clothes not fitting me anymore...I've even got 2 dresses I bought a few years ago in the hope I would slim into them but now is my year!

I hurt my back just over 4 years ago and now I can only walk with walking sticks so I can't do exercise so that is how the weight crept up on me but I have recently taken up swimming again....previously it hurt too much afterwards so I gave up but now everything seems to be in my favour!!!

Anyway I would just like to say Good Luck to all the other Slim Fast newbies our there.

Welcome Lilac!

I understand the not exercising thing. The last time I lost a significant amount of weight, I started to run a bit. I used to take my dog and jog in the park with him. It wasn't a long time and I wouldn't qualify myself as a runner but it helped. Then at some point, I broke my ankle. And obviously, that was the end of that. So many years and pounds later...I have found because of the extra weight I carry that exercise is not entirely possible right now. I have a bad Knee (runs in the family) a bad ankle (cause I broke it) and my hip bothers me (because of the weight)... and my back sometimes bothers me (also because of the weight)....

.... so it's like a catch 22! LOL!

Anyways my point was.... The little bit that you can do now will obviously help... and maybe with continued weight loss.. it will be better for your back... and you might be able to do more.... etc etc. SO good for you on swimming!

Now if it would just warm up here, i could go for walks with my pokey daughter... lol :)

Welcome!
