Hi

I'm Emma and I've started Weight Watchers points system this Monday.
I need to shift about half of my body weight, so I'm in it for a while. I'm not actually going to the classes but I know I can do it without, I'm just going to have to be extra strict and come here for a bit of a moan/advice.

I lost 4 stone about 2 years ago and went down from a size 24 to a size 18, and since then i've had a little boy and the weight has creeped back up. I am now size 24 again and I'm really really angry with myself and feel quite sick and embarrassed.

I want to do this for my son too more than anything, I need to be teaching him and drum it into him about healthy eating and being careful from an early age, as I don't want him to grow up as the fat kid at school. Hes only 7 months right now, but its not too early to start. So I have to pracitice what I'm teaching him.

I'm going to Egypt at the end of April and I want to lose a couple of stone by then. I have 11 weeks to do it in, so that is my first mini goal.

I'm then going to Greece for my birthday in August, so I need to set myself another little goal, 27 weeks I think it is. What would you think is a realistic goal to set for then?

Finally, I am going to apply to start my nurse training a year in March. so I have 13 months to lose as much as possible so I can start that feeling comfortable and happy with myself. Again, I don't know what a realistic goal would be for then, but its that far away I can think about that after my other 2 goals.

Thanks

Hi Emma,

My name is Gemma and my story is identical to yours although the difference my son is now 2.5 and I have only just made my steps! Well done for starting.
Let us know how you get on.

Hi Emma.

Sorry, I can't help with your goals-I don't really know what would be a realistic target for you.

I just finished my nursing degree last September. If I were doing it again, I would definitely have lost some weight first. It might have just been my uni, but the only food we had easy access to was junk when in uni. Everybody complained of putting on weight and of their uniforms becoming tight. I gained about 1 1/2 stone over the 3 years there. I think serious dieting when in uni would have been nigh on impossible (for me at least).
