Is it proven that the red days are the ones that speed up your weight loss?

I've been doing a mix of red (but not many), green and extra easy so far but my fat is obviously very comfortable and is clinging on! I'm trying an EE week all week so seeing how that goes. But do successful slimmers keep to a set ratio (eg. 4 days green and 3 red a week?) would be interesting to know

When I did SW last year I ONLY did red days and I lost on average 3lb a week. I have started again this year and will be doing red days only again.

The problem with red days is they can be expensive.

I suppose it is each to their own really, you just have to find out what works with your body.

as our consultant says she only does green days and lost 5 stone.. as shes a vegitarian she did this in 18mths and is still loosing.. i do only green days and ive lost a stone in 3 weeks but i dont know how well that will pan out in the long term.. hth nic x

Im vegetarian and only do green days too. My friend is also a veggie and lost 9stone in 10 months only doing green days :) The plan works whichever days you follow and as long as you stick to it you will lose weight

Aye, as the others say - it really does depend on what you prefer to eat (within plan :) )

I'm a diehard carnivore and if I forced myself to do more green days than I do, I'd give up and return to the chocolate :)

I think the only way is to give it a try and see. I've always been a carb person and although I do like my meat I couldn't live without potatoes and pasta! I typically do green and my losses are good - although I do like to throw the odd red day in there so that I've mixed it up a bit. My mum on the other hand does the opposite and loves her meat so is mainly a red person. I think there is something to be said about it being different for different people - like I will feel full from a plate of pasta and I'll enjoy it - but not full after eating a whole chicken and won't have really enjoyed it too much - so doing green is better for me as I will be happy and full.

I do both and always have done, I tend to have 2 or 3 green days a week and the rest red and lost 4st in 5 months this way, once you switch to a green day, you can retain fluid from the carbs which on the scales can show a gain or sts but remember this is just water, what you will still be losing is fat which the scales won't show so it can take a while for it to show up on the scales.

I personally find that I feel more satisfied and full on a green day than a red when I always seem to be nibbling! but both plans work equally well, if green didn't work, SW would have banned it by now

I stick to 2 days green and the rest red and that seems to work for me. Any more Green and I feel full and lethargic...it suits some people better than others, but there is no proof that sticking to just one or the other is better for you.

good point made by Angelina, if green days didnt work they would have been banned. I only do green and so far has worked.good luck

I think even before EE was introduced I was doing EE as sorts. Each meal would incorporate both meat and potato/pasta/rice (free foods + HEXbs).

I can rarely have one without the other!

I don't know where you got that from, that red days speed up your losses?! Everyone is different and it depends on how your body processes the different food groups which will work best for you. I actually don't lose anything if I do red days and I have gained by doing reds as my body prefers more carbs to protein. Try all the plans and find the one that is right for you

I heard/read somewhere that more red days than green will speed up losses also, just can't remember where i read it.

I'm only on day 3 but i feel fatter, that may sound stupid but i'm sat here analysing my belly and convinced i am bloated, i have had a green day today and LOVED the food i have eaten but do wonder if i carried on these green days til next wi i may put on weight, or sts.

Personally I find with red days i'm much more likely to eat a lot more veg and i think it's that which makes red days more successful for me.

Rachelina,

Again a very helpful post - it does make sense and gives me more optimism that the plan is going to work for me. I alternate days and today on a green day i feel bloated and feel i'm not losing but this has cheered me up!!:D

Thanks!!

Yep i also read about red days speeding your losses - i tried doing only red and STS or gained for 5 weeks on the trot. i started a new class for a new start and did some greens again and lost 1lb this week even though i was naughty and went LOADS over syns every day.

i am experimenting with only having Greens & EE this week and am also trialling cutting out red meat as it seems to bloat me badly

it's definately trial and error when you first start out!:D

to be honnest my first week i was sooooo bloated and i lost 8lb but was convinced id put on as id ate so much that week... our bodies work in wonderful ways!!!!
