week 3 and i have lost total 1 stone and 2ibs
really good but i feel so unhappy as this week i lost 0 yes lost nothing
but was on ss 100per cent
my cd said dont always get weight loss but loose inches
its so disheartning when you dont see the scales moving down
currently i weigh 12.7 so only 2 stone away from my goal
i thought beening on ss you would at least loss 3-4ibs every week?:break_diet:

start weight 13.9
week 1 lost 7ibs
week 2 lost 6ibs
week 3 lost 3ibs
week 4 lost 0
weight 12.7ibs at moment

I know you feel cross ..but look at the bigger picture ..your average loss over the 3 weeks has been over 5lbs per week ...not bad really ?

My CDC once told me when I had not lost on a 100% week that your body had to sort of burrow a hole into the fat layer before it could start to come away ....you'll probably get a good loss next week

keep strong

Your CDC is quite right, you do not always get a weight loss. There are other loss measurements, inch loss is one for example. The scales are a (fairly) small part of a weight loss journey.

Things like constipation and time of the month can affect a weigh in result, as can drinking large amounts of fluid prior to weigh in. A litre of water weighs 2.2lbs. Also were you wearing the same or similar clothing and weighing at the same time? Throughout the day you can gain a few lbs without actually doing anything - its the way the body works.

You have lost a stone and 2lbs in 3 weeks!! That is fab!! The average loss on the SS programme is a stone per calendar month! You have beaten that in 3 weeks!!

Try not to get despondent, and look at it as an average over your whole journey! Your body will settle into weight loss, and hopefully next week, the scales will show a good loss. :)

Spooky got there before me and she is spot on with her advice. Stick to SS and you lose at least 14lbs a month. But you wont lose it in equal amounts of 3.5lbs per week as our bodies just dont work like that.

This is the second thread I've read like this at week 3.. am wondering if it's a 'low' emotionally that happens on the diet. (?) really think your losses are fantastic and as spooky points out the scale is a small tool in different ways of measuring.

Try and see the picture of how far into your journey you are now, that it CAN be done.. read up on losses of people who achieved their goals and you'll see that yours is on a par to most of them and therefore it really is normal :).

Hope you manage to lift your spirits and see how great you've done!

Fact: Stick to the plan and you definitely lose weight
Fact: You can control what you put in your mouth

Fact: You cannot control what the scales say.

So what do you celebrate? The scales showing a loss, or the fact that you kept to the diet all week?

What if you stick to the diet, but the scales don't reflect your effort? Will you be disappointed, even though you have done everything correctly and couldn't possibly do any better? Knowing that you will have lost weight…but it didn't mean anything because the scales are giving the wrong result?

What if you ‘cheat’ and the scales show a big loss…does that mean you've succeeded and need a pat on the back?

Or even if you've been 100% and the scales are showing a loss? Does it mean more to you? Does that mean you've done even better than 100%?

I think the scales are a wonderful tool. I weigh daily, and love seeing them give the same reading day in and out, but that’s not what I really celebrate.

I celebrate being in control of what I put in my mouth, because that’s what I have done. I don't celebrate what the scales say.

So if you've stayed the same one week, or just lost that one pound….if you've kept to the diet 100%, then be proud, because that’s what it’s all about. Stick to the diet and the weight is coming off….whether or not the scales agree. And you're worth the same amount of applause than those who have lost more.

1lbs, 1 stone, it doesn't matter. You can't do better than 100% after all ;)

So do me a favour, and next time you go to your CDC for a weigh in, if you've been 100%, go in rejoicing.

Tell him/her you are going to be one of their success stories, because you were in control this week and will be next. If the scales reflect this, that’s just the icing on the cake. You've lost weight anyway. You don't need a mechanical instrument to tell you whether you are in control or not ;)
someone posted this I think this week , so have a read !

We are far too quick to beat ourselves up. Sticking to SS is bloody hard. Sending you a pat on the back!!!

thanks for the posts makes me feel better
i think i have lost inches this week instead of the scales moving at least i feel better now reading thew comments just got to stick with it and see what i weigh next week

Hey, you are doing better than me! We started at about the same weight (I was 13 7.5lbs) and I have lost 13lb so far after 3.5 weeks.

Just think, that is so much more than you would have lost doing ww or something so you should be really pleased with your loss. I am over the moon that I am nearly a stone lighter than I was at the beginning of January and I feel so much better about myself.

Keep going!!!!

You have done really well.. don't worry too much about what the scales say, just feel the difference in ur clothes, that will tell u ur losing weight. well done.
