My BIG 3-0... Advice Needed Please!

Hi everyone,

It's my birthday soon, and since it's a big one (not quite as big as my butt though) I feel that I really need to do something to celebrate but I don't want to mess up my diet too much so I was thinking if I didn't have my evening shake, I could invite my family over and have some sort of food with them...

Something along the lines of chilli king prawns, garlic chicken skewers etc etc. All low calorie and low carbohydrate but would eating things like that take me out of ketosis?

Also, does anyone have other suggestions for things that I could eat that wouldn't take me out of ketosis? I'll be in week 4 by then but I just can't bare the thought of celebrating such a big birthday with a shake!

Im in the same boat, well Im not 30 til July, but I am already getting worried about what I can eat etc...

Im on CD, but it works on the same principle...so from people I have spoken to, you could eat Atkins-type foods, as in low carb....that basically means meat, fish, eggs etc....just watch the amount of calories consumed...

Check the Atkins website, it has an 'Acceptable Food' list....

If you stick to that, you should stay in ketosis...

Great advice, thank you so much! I had a look on the Atkins website, they have some great recipes, even one for a cake - yay! So, I'm going to give some of them a go and hope it doesn't ruin my diet too much!


Also, decided to celebrate my birthday properly in August when I will be much slimmer and the weather will be better!
