food focus alternative

Cheers Pree! Not 100% convinced yet, but I'll try it for a few days. It doesn't let you put your own weights in, for my Fruit and Fibre it was 40g or 1kg - 20g? Tough, you need to eat more!! Lol

I want Food Fous back !!!

Grr, still no Food Focus

What are they playing at?! I wonder who owns and runs it....? Have been googling it and can't find anything out. Very frustrating. Shall we start our own food diary/calorie calculating site?!! :p

FOund this on another forum, was posted a while back about the site in general

Membership Costs

Membership and usage of the Site is currently provided free of subscription charge or other user fees. FoodFocus reserves the right to begin charging users for services at anytime in the future and without prior notice. FoodFocus.co.uk is still in a software testing and debugging stage of development. As such, FoodFocus.co.uk does not make any assurances or guarantees as to the reliability or quality of the service provided (including the amount of time the Site is accessable for use).

what i think happened is they have done their testing and are prob gonna start charging ppl to use it.

however i have used fitness pal for 2 days now and im slowly getting used to it. searching food aint same as FF, however good once u get tha hang of it. keep at it!

If it's a bandwidth problem, it probably wont come back until 1st Feb as they have probably had their full quota of visitors for this month

Unless they pay more in the meantime though.

Or, it could be as Preetone says, but that wouldn't be good business practice without a warning. It would have been better to have paid a bit more for extra bandwidth until they start charging as they will have lost potential customers having the site down.

If it continues to be free, well, they don't have to supply it, so it's just one of those things...annoying though it is for those that use it.

I've started using Caloriecount.about.com, it's free and a bit fiddly because a lot of the foods are US, but you can enter meals/foods like FF, and it shows you a little pie-chart of your nutritional intake for each day which is pretty cool? The forums are very good too?

OOh KD, I hope you're right, that it'll be back on 1st Feb. That's the reason I have been under on my cals, as I can't seem to commit to any of these alternative sites :8855:

If it is the case, we'll have to stop recommending it to people girls :sign0151:
