What to expect? NEWBIE!

I have my very first weigh in tonight.. should I be excited or nervous?..
I have tried my best to keep away from the scales and from tape measure all week and I have stuck to my SS 100% since Friday.

Weekend was horrible, all I wanted to do was eat, but I battled on.
Water intake has been really easy, and I have even managed to go to the gym twice!..

But... I still don't know what to expect.. I don't feel like I am loosing any weight.. though I feel healthier, and my jeans are just as tight as they were a week ago, should I be noticing changes this early on?

I really want to stick to this.. and would like any help or advice that anyone can throw at me!!...:)

..I also have a "pea and pie" party to attend this weekend, already got out of the alcohol drinking by giving everyone a lift.. but I really want to stick to the diet, but not come over as rude, or even in some cases being laughed at for being on my diet... any help on this would be great to!

Thank you!

xx

Hey Nell! I also have my first WI today-cant wait! Ive gotta say that I feel the same, I cant really notice much changes. Just wait for ur weigh in and then im sure u will notice the difference. good luck x

Hi nell123 and welcome. Ooh first weigh in i would be very excited though i can understand a few nerves too the main thing is not to set yourself up for unrealistic goals or compair your losses with others im sure you will have done great. Its a good idea to take measurements i measure on a fortnightly basis as sometimes when the number on the scales isnt what we expect a loss can show up in inches or even as you say in the clothes we wear. Social occasions are never easy b not drinking your half way there i ofen find i panic before i go out about what excuses to make and then once im there people dont even notice im not eating. Ive been on cd for 17weeks and my children still dont seem to have noticed. If people do notice how you deal with it is up to you, you can either make an excuse tooth ache etc or you can be upfrount about your diet i am usually upfount many people are supporive but you always get the odd few who will not understand and be quite critical at the end of the day you have to do whats bet for you your doing the diet for you and nobody else.

Firstly - very well done you! You have done the hard bit - I think, by getting the first few days out of the way. It'll be wonderful to hear what your loss is - I think you may be surprised, despite not feeling like you have been losing - with 100% SS you can't fail to lose...and plenty. I am 100% this time as I think it's easier (when I eat anything it just makes me hungry, so I'm cold turkey and on day 3...going well so far...).
Well done on dodging the booze - it's really great to give the booze a miss anyway - don't get me wrong, I love a glass of wine or 4 (!) but just ditching booze alone shifts pounds and pounds.
I do actually weigh myself at home as well as with my CDC as it's very motivating - esp when thinking about it all the time. To give you an idea, I have lost 5lb in 2 days on SS, but then I have a lot more to lose than you... if you look at others' signatures on this who are 100% SS, you'll get an idea as the the weekly losses to expect.
For your Pea & Pie party (!), I would suggest you have an extra pack that day e.g. have one before you go, and maybe take a tetra shake with you for mid evening... if you do eat, try to keep to lean meat & no carbs and that will just be like adding a meal in SS+. Avoid any pastry/sugars/fruits etc which make knock you out of ketosis. Your CDC tonight will be best placed to advise you tonight, but really don't worry to much - you will be fine, and when you see your loss it'll spur you on even more.
Hope this helps.
Good luck & let us know how you get on
x

.... oh and drink plenty of water while you are at the party to keep you in ketosis and away from temptation!! xxx

Wow. Well thanks everyone for the support..

I have just had my first weigh in.... and..
wow indeed I have lost 1.5 inches off my waist and 7.5 lbs.. I was hoping to loose 4! I feel really motivated now.. even though its not yet showing through my jeans!!.. I understand thats probably going to be my biggest loss through water balance, but I think it's a sure good way to start!

I spoke to my CDC about the pie and pea party and she said the same thing, shake and a bar if its all too much!

I'm definatly going to battle on after this though.. yey!!..

Thanks again everyone!
