Hi i know it is totally off topic, however i had my appendix out november 2007 (whilst 26 weeks pregnant). Is it normal 1 year and 2 months later to still have pain under my scar?? I have been gettin some pain lately and it is quite sore. Any advice from drs or nurses or anyone who has gone through this would be great. Thanks xx

This might be nothing but no, it isn't normal to experience pain under the scar after a couple of months. If, a year on, you're still experiencing pain (or it has come on recently) then you should see a doctor.

It's probably nothing, but you need to check that the scar tissue hasn't gone strange underneath or attaching itself to something.

I had mine out four years ago and have never felt a thing after two months. I had a friend who experienced pain and the scar tissue needed a little surgery after a year to properly heal.

Thanks, i will see how it is tomorow then go to drs. God how sore is the pain just before your appendix comes out, i was in agony, the dr said that he would have given me about 48 hours and it would have defo burst.

Yeah, the worst pain ever. The doctor said I had a day or two before it would have burst aswell.

But the worst bit for me was standing up for the first time after the operation. Horrible!

No you shouldn't feel any pain after the normal healing time - the pain before it is bad enough!

i've not had my appendix out but in september 2004 i had an ectopic pregnancy and had to have a fallopian tube removed (on same side as appendix actually)

i still to this day get pain all the time - twingey sore pain. was horrendous when i was pregnant last year and when i was in labour it was pure agony. Dr's just said it was scar tissue being stretched and pulled. It twinges when time of the month and ovulation too:sigh:

Hi i was at the dr today for another matter and i happened to mention my appendix pain, she said that it is scar tissue and explained that it will hurt from time to time. Thanks everyone for responses x
