Yup! Another Newbie!

Hello there! After browsing this site for a couple of weeks now, I thought I'd finally join! Everyone seems so lovely and supportive here. Although everyone's situation is different, it's amazed me how many people are fighting a similar battle to me and its comforting to know, from reading your stories, that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

As a kid I was always bigger than the rest and that continued through my teens into adulthood...I guess I just got used to it and knew no different. Over 2 years ago however, I joined a gym, thinking it would be the magic solution to my problem...but here we are now...and nothing has changed! I now realise the money leaving my bank every month doesn't magically melt the pounds off of me...i actually have to go more than once every-now-and-again-when-i-can-be-bothered!

A friend of mine is getting married July 2010, for which I am a bridesmaid, so I figured, if I can't have a wedding of my own to lose weight for, then we shall use her's as the impetus!

So we'll see how it goes....!

Irene, I hope to maintain a slow and steady combo of excercise and healthier eating. My main problem was eating rubbish totally unnecessarily....normally at night and out of boredom...I blame my sweet tooth! But hopefully a bit of willpower will go a long way!
 
i'm the same Debs. Once my Daughter's in bed and I get on the PC, I just pig out on rubbish. Think it's worse coz I don't allow myself to smoke in the house, so I nibble instead of smoke. Need to get myself one of those inhalator things I think, Keep my hands busy!
