Is high blood pressure a problem with LL

Hi

I am hoping to start LL on 17th Feb. I attended a well woman clinic yesterday to get pill and smear (sorry if too much info). The nurse commented on my bp and said I should be on medication.
I was going to make an appointment with GP to get forms signed but am now worried they will not sign as they will want to sort out BP before letting me start.
Has anyone had any experience of this?
Thanks

No problem

High blood pressure usually comes down when you lose weight. Mine was a bit high when I started LL , perfectly normal now.
Hopefully your doctor will be pleased that you are taking control of your weight.
I know everyone at my Surgery is now very pro LL even though they were sceptical at first.
The proof of yhe pudding is ( not) in the eating!
Good luck with the doctor

I agree. Don't think that the doctor would be concerned about you starting something to lose weight with high blood pressure. More likely to encourage you I would have thought.

Mine has come down from about 130/80 and a pulse of over 90, to 110/70 and a pulse rate of 69. This is purely from losing weight, as I've not really done a lot of exercise (especially since it got cold and I don't fancy going out for walks!).

Hope you get your forms signed without bother!

Thanks

Thanks for the encouragement. Saw the doctor this morning and he said he had no problem signing the form but as I haven't had blood tests for a while to have them done and see him again in 2 weeks. He will then decide what action is needed and sign the form. He said he was always in favour of people taking control of changing their lifestyle!

Fingers crossed

No is the short answer, however they get you to check every 4 weeks, its to ensure that not only is it coming down but it does not drop too low, which is very, very, very rare on this diet.

you will find that if you are 150/80 which is high you will be 120/70 when you are done, that is healthier.

Hi
I have high blood pressure and diabetes which is one of the reasons I am on LL, Not only do I want to lose weight I also hope to get of the blood pressure and cholesteraltablets
Im on day 1 of week 2 and look forward to my doctors check up in week 4 when she will see my weight flying off and hopefully blood pressure reducing
