Hi all, I joined the Cambridge diet on saturday and started the diet today. I just got a text from my councellor saying she will bike over a medical confirmation form for my doctor to sign. I know my GP just won't go for it. I did Lighter Life with no problem and they gave me a 'private GP' I could make an appointment with and get sign off. But I don't recall his details as it was 3 years ago. Can anyone offer any suggestions of how I might track someone similar down? Thanks

Hi, I am new the CD but the first thing we did with our CDC was fill in the medical forms to make sure we were suitable for the diet. As we decided along with our CDC to do SS+ (4 packs and 200mls of skimmed milk) she said that we didn't need it signed by our doctor. I think that they still have to inform your doctor that you are on the diet though.

Your GP has to be informed but cant stop you . Unless there is good reason . unless you are doing ss + then you can get round it that way

I can't understand this  If you needed a doctors signature, which happens in some cases, then you shouldn't be on the diet until it's signed.

If you don't need a drs certificate (not BMI 40+, on medication...and some other things), the doctor has to be informed, but a signature isn't needed.

In that case, the majority of CDCs will just send a letter to the doctor, and this doesn't need the medical record form.

So, I imagine, that the CDC has written a letter to the doctor and instead of posting it herself, she's giving it to you to deliver. If that's the reason, then you wont need a siggy, just either give it to the receptionist or put it through their letter box :)

How have you found day 1?

I think the rules have changed and if you are doing SS (3 packs a day) you need a doctors signature. I'm new but i'm sure thats what our CDC told us (correct me if i am wrong)!!

If you have a bmi higher than 40 why do you need a doctors signature??

Just one of the rules ;) I guess that at over BMI 29.9 a person would be more at risk of other health issues.

Corrected :D

You don't need a doctors signature for SS unless you are on medication etc etc.
