Please Help :-(

Hi all not sure if this is for me or not but I need to do something with my life at 19st I'm on my way to death and as per the norm I've come out of Christmas feeling gross and worthless. I want to see my kids grow up and be proud of them and them proud of me. Its not great been the fat parent and I sometimes feel that my kids see it (and feel it). I am thinking of doing the Cambridge Diet and looking at how many of you have got on with it, it looks to be working. I fully understand that its me that need to do it and the only person that can get the results. I'm going to think about it this week but at the end of the day I've just got to do something I have never been so depressed and unhappy :-( . Any thoughts at all would be appreciated or any advice on what to do.

I need to get a new life

Hiya, sorry to read how down you are at the moment! The best advice I could give, is don't "think" about doing cambridge, DO IT!! Cambridge can literally change your life, you sound very determind to change your life and cambridge (in my opinion) will be the best thing you can do as the results are almost immediate and you'll start feeling sooooo much better about yourself within a couple of days! Good luck with what you decide xx

Hi, y not just give it ago.....u have made the decision to lose the weight.. and this diet really is the quickest way to do it. good luck with what ever u decide.

Thank you, I'm working away for a few days and I'm going to have a really good think about what to do. I wont have access to the net for a few days so when I get back I'll have a look to see what eveyone thinks. At this mo in time I'm 90% certain that I'm going to do CD however and I'm sure you have all being there ...... yet another diet another great chance to fail :-(

It's also a great chance to change your life hun ;). Why not give a local Counsellor a call and have a chat about it, you don't have to commit to anything just find out a bit more. You've nothing to lose.

Hi New Life Man

I came out of xmas feelin pretty crap as my weight had gone up to 19st 2 and I decided to do something about it. I went the Lighter Life route but basically the same VLCD as Cambridge.
Ironically my goal weight is same as yours
Im sure youve had the same problems as me with every diet going - Its a real bummer
I love curries takeaways and wine but eventually I decided I had to get a grip and do something
2009 was NOT going to another SUMMER where I wished I'd done something about it - I'm taking action NOW

Ok its a bit of a shock to the system, im now on day 5 and feel trousers not as tight already and I havent had alcahol for 5 nights which must be a new record for me

Just to make things harder I am a single parent widower so I still have to cook meals for my kids. Weve been to ASDA this afternoon for shopping and ive cooked them chicken breasts, roast spuds, sweetcorn and gravy with hot choc pudding and custard for pudding

Despite that I am 100% gonna make this work
I want to get 3 stone off asap then I can focus on getting rest off be that on low calorie diet etc

Another bit of info is that men lose quicker than women and if you stick to a VLCD diet such as CD for 3 months with no alcahol 100% compliance then you should lose 3 stone

I repeat 3 stone in 8 weeks - AWESOME

Get with the programme brother
I want to hear from you when you start

Cheers

James

Thanks all, I'm gonna make a call when I get back home on Wednesday. I'm gonna go for this, I'll make contact Wednesday with a local counsellor and then start ASAP ..... before the weekend if I can get the product etc

Cheers

It will be one of the best decisions you ever made. 7 weeks ago I was 19st 5lbs. I am now 16st 5lbs. I love Cambridge, it's slowly giving me my life back. All the best.

Hi New Life Man

I can only agree with what others have said on here.

Last January I weighed in at 327lbs. I couldn't move, I was too tired to do anything, I didn't want to walk. With the encouragement of my son who had done CD, I started on 29th January. My husband died suddenly in June and by then I had lost nearly 6 stone. By November I had lost over 9stone. I went to Florida on holiday followed closely by a holiday in this country in December. I ate over Christmas - not sensibly - and I've put on half a stone. However, I'm back on CD and now on Day 5. I feel so much better already.

Have a look at my profile album pictures and you'll see the difference its made to me. I am more confident, especially when I suddenly have to do everything on my own after being married for over 36 years, and I feel better than I have for over 20 years! At last I can sit on the floor to play with my grandchildren!

You go for it! The first few days are hard, much worse second time round, but by Day 4 its getting easier and now I'm back in ketosis the hunger is gone and I'm just reaping the benefits!

Let us know how you get on.

Chris

Hi New Life Man,

I havent read all the replys to your original message yet (havent the time at the mo) but I'd say definately "go for it." When I first started Cambridge I was "oohing" and "arrring" whether to do it or not, if the shakes would fill me up (which they do, and I soon stopped even thinking about food and having the shakes became second nature to me) and every other "what if....?" question that tends to come up. In february of last year I was close to 23 stone, had mobility problems, and on my way to a heart attack no doubt, even walking to the end of the road was problematic, couldnt breathe properly. I did get down to 16stone and now have none of the mobility or breathing problems I had before. In fact, the only problem I have now is that all my clothes are "too big" for me :D. Even though I am coming off the diet now due to financial difficulties (I'll probably do WW for a while. If I could still afford it, theres no doubt that I would stick with Cambridge.) I dont consider myself a "master" of the cambridge diet but I do like to think that I have done very well and am very proud of it, so please feel free to check out my Cambridge Diary for inspiration if you want. The link is in my signature. Anyway, please let us know how you are getting on.

Oh, and just in case you look at me "tickers" down the bottom, they are out of date, dont worry about them.

:) She's (Bijoux) in my team and she's good! More positive everyday!
3 stone has taken me 4.5 months but I'm still soooo glad to feel different and also for my girls not to be the kids with the fat Mum anymore.
A stone or so to go, but that feels manageable.

Hi Grandma

What an inspiration you are. Sorry to read of your loss my wife died after only 7 years of marriage of a sudden brain haemmorage and had not ever been ill and was really fit.
I was inspired to read how despite your sad loss you have carried on with spectacular results

I hope one day to be able to post my success story but for now its the hard work as only on Day 6 of week 1 but I will do it

Cheers

James

Hi New Life Man

As a Cambridge Counsellor, I see many males in your situation. I have had no one who has ever said they regret giving the diet a try.

Odds on if you are determined enough, you will see changes to your body and you will stick with it and achieve a significant loss.

Good luck!!

New life man, we have the same amoujnt of weight to lose 70lb, I am sure you wont regret your decision, no one said it will be easy, but nothing worth doing ever is. Keep going day by day and you will get there.

Thank you all. I'm making the call Wednesday when I get back home. I've just got to go for this I'll keep you posted on the start date. All being well I am hoping to have product by Friday or Saturday . Let the battle commence LOL

Tx

:)

Just wanted to say I'm so glad to read that you have decided to go for it, it's the best thing I've ever done, I'm not there yet but I feel better for doing it and I was bigger than you when I started, so go for it, nothing can be worse than feeling like you're going to die.

Hiya,

Sorry to hear that ya are feeling very down within yourself, we all have those days but i truly relate to everything that ya said. Right instead of thinking about doing the diet why dont ya bite the bullet and do it, what have ya got to lose apart from a couple of stone which will bring ya down to a much happier and healthier u!!

First of all ya admited that ya have a problem and that was your biggest hurdle so now just get on the wagon and start losing those pounds. We are 100% behind ya no matter what diet we are following and we will all offer the support no matter when ya need it. I wish ya all the best in your success, no doubt its going to be a bumpy ride but its one that worth doing!! Take care
