Can't stop drinking tea!

Hi Guys,

I am a CD restarter.

I was 16st 10lb back in July 2008 and lost 4st in 16 weeks taking me down to 12st 10lb.
After coming off CD and staying the same for 2 months, I pigged out over Christmas putting on 8lb.

I restarted CD this monday but decided that although I would do SS, I would still have semi skimmed milk in my tea (a bit of a mix between SS and SS+).
Only trouble is, with the weather being really cold, I am drinking between 6-10 mugs of tea a day and only about 3 pints of water.

Does anyone know whether this will cause me too many problems?

Thanks

Hi there

I drank tea with milk all the time I did CD with no adverse effects, but I suppose everyone is different and you just have to see how it affects you if at all.

Hope this helps!

Hi
You still need to aim for your 4 pints of clear fluid in addition to tea and coffee. The book says use skimmed milk too as semi has more calories and fats than skimmed, albeit slight.

Good luck for your restart :)

Hiya, I drink lots and lots of herbal tea, plus my usual intake of plain water. it's nice to drink something hot especially with the weather so cold at the moment. I do find tho with herbal tea, i'm nipping the loo more and more!! xx

Hi Mandie

When I was calorie counting I worked out that the semi skimmed milk I was using in each cup of tea had around 50 calories (I wouldn't say I had it overly milky). Times that by the 10 mugs you sometimes have in a day and with your CD packs it's taking your total calorie allowance to nearly 1000 - you might as well be doing a higher plan!

Semi skimmed milk has 50 calories per 100ml and 4.8 grams of carbs - it might be worth you measuring out into your tea cup/mug the milk you use per drink, then tipping it into a measuring jug. Do it for the equivalent of 6-10 cups of tea and then you work out what the damage really is instead of having to guesstimate.
