Hello,
Firstly may I say that you are some of the most inspirational people I have ever met, and simply reading your posts has given me hope! so thankyou greatly!
Im seventeen, eighteen in feb and wanting to begin lighter life in febuary..what could be a better present to myself? Im currently 17.6stone and a size 22/24:cry:, its embarrising to admit that this time two years ago I was 9.3stone and a 10/12 :sigh:, but binging and emotional eating has made me into this huge blubbery mess!! This diet seems ideal for me, as I either do things all or nothing! I was wondering what peoples experiences are with the diet, what youve gained from the sessions, whether you get your monies worth, how long it took you to get to your goals, and what I can expect from the diet?
I just want to gain as much information before begining the diet...Im meeting with the councellor next wednesday so want some background knowledge first instead of going in knowing nothing! :)
I want to lose approximetly 7-8stone is this even possible? How long would this take (approx)?
Sorry for the long post, but your words of wisdom would be VERY VERY much appriciated!
Thankyou all of you amazing people!

Hiya Rachiie!

7 to 8 stone is definitely possible honey. Please stop beating yourself up about putting weight on. One of the best things about the LL programme is that you get the help from your fellow LLers and your LLC to work out why it was you put on the weight in the first place. The fact is that you are making steps to change things.
I have found LL very beneficial to me, and this forum has been my lifeline. In one way it's an easy diet, in another it is very hard. Your head needs to be in the right place. Moneywise, due to the amount of money I used to spend on food and drink before LL, I'm actually saving money now!!

I do respect you for facing up to this problem at such a young age too. Wish I had done it a few years ago tbh!!!

B x

PS: Remember that you will need to see your doctor to get a form signed to start the programme too!!

People on here are such inspirations! So i'd like to thank you all too! Given me the confidence to do a liquid diet! I start on Friday, and have 6 to loose by June-I have found out this is possible. This is the right step for you and you can do it!

Hello Rachiie

Firstly you are very brave for having the courage to come here and ask about the diet and taking the steps to starting this wonderful journey

Ok some information about the diet. you basically will be abstaining from food, you will have 4 food packs a day, the first week is about shakes and soups only until you reach Ketosis (Ketosis is when the body goes into fat burning mode) this usually takes 3 - 7 days after which you will be able to have 3 shakes or soups and a bar which tastes delicious. You are allowed to have as much black tea(or any leaf tea) and coffee as you like with ulimited sweetners(pellet kind not powder) You are required to drink at least 1.5 - 2 litres of water a day, but the more you drink the more you loose i have found and others will tell you the same. Just be sensible dont drink 4 litres in two hours spread it out over the day. The tea and coffee count in the water department.

In addition to his you have to go for regular weigh ins every week and attend councelling sessions (you can opt out of them with a valid reason)

You can expect to loose 3 - 6 pounds a week depending on your body, check out some of the female members tickers and stats to see it weekly. so having said that you will drop 7 stones in probably 5 months or so. I know a friend of mine (girl) who did.

Hope all that helps and feel free to ask more questions.

Go for it!!

Hey Bekimo,
thankyou loads for replying honestly I was really nervous..which normally isnt me!
I went to slimming world when I was 13/14 and weighed 13.7stone so ive always had eating issues and I lost 4.9stones but It became unhealthy and the pressure of a large group and being the only child there meant i developed some very unhealthy behaviours which I have now sorted, but my binges continue...darn them! I am a self confessed emotional eatter and deal with every emotion with food, and was hoping that leaving food out of the equation and working with the group might help those issues...do you think thats possible?
Thankyou agin for your reply, and hopefully the GP will sign the forms and ill be slim for the summer!! Cant start in Jan but hopefully feb :)
Also what are your experiences/knowledge on maintaining the weight loss?
God I dont half ramble lol!

that's why the program is right for you it will deprogram those bad habits while you abstain form food, go to the sessions they help you understand why you eat and how its emotional as you say

Thanks! And the fact I have a target and an aim-MY WEDDING!!! so I have to focus on that and I am sure that will get me through it x

Worth reminding you guys that losing the weight is the first step in the battle. The best thing for me about LL is the fact they do look after you when your at your goal weight and help you to get back to the normal world of eating food!

They say that you should expect around a stone a month. Could be more, could be less. But it's a good rule of thumb.

Congrats on the Wedding plans hostiekylieboo! Good luck with the hundreds of dress fitting you'll have to have though!

Oh yeh, you may want to make friends with the local charity shops! You will get through clothes like nobody's business!!

Sorry one more question...:p

What support have you gained from your LLC? And how did your families feel about the diet or what did you tell people about the diet?

Thankyou :)

actually you know what we all have something in common here, i completely forgot to mention it. My biggest regret was being a Chubby Groom, this was about 2 years ago when i was 19 stone. So i will be retaking my wedding photos again, me and my wife agreed on this a while back. She happens not to need this diet damn her!! lol

It's great to have something to aim for! Mine is that I am going to Florida with 5 girls who are all smaller than me :(.
Three of them are all currently on diets. I think they fear being the biggest. Cus for once, it's not going to be me.
I can't wait until about August when they all hit the diet wagon hard and I'm in Management!! Possibly not the most positive thinking, but it will amuse the hell out of me!
