Can You Do CD If Youve Had WLS?

I had a gastric by-pass in May of this year but havent had the success expected. My weightloss has all but stopped and I want to try and follow cd to aid further weightloss.

My Dr is fine with me doing this as it will mean i will get all the nutrients i need, will i be able to find a councilor that will take me on?

Has anyone here had a by-pass and is now following CD?

Many thanks

It should be okay. In fact, I reckon it's a great idea.

Your op was more than the obligatory 3 months ago, but if I was your CDC I'd still want the doctor to sign the mrf and also phone the medical person (Gill) to double check as doctors aren't always expert when it comes to the Cambridge diet.

Best of luck :)

I know that vampalicious has has wls and is on cd at the moment but i think her surgery was a few years ago.
I'd say take KD's advice, just best to cover all your bases to be safe.
Good luck, i hope you get the new you want.

hiya, yes ive had WLS, but ive only had a lapband, not a bypass, to be honest with you i have not told my CDC that i have the lapband, i didnt feel the need to tell her and none of the questions she asked made me have to tell her so i just left it, BUT when you fill in the forms she will ask you if you have had any operations in the last 3 years, im guessing she will have to write down what op it was, ( i had my lapband op nearly 6 years ago) if your doctor has said its fine then she wont turn you down as she has no reason too, good luck!! ( its a pain isnt it when you think WLS is your last hope, only to fond that dosnt work either!)

Thanks so much for your advice and kind words, this site is amazing!

I cant wait to start now!
