holidays and staying fit

anyone else struggle this time of the year with staying in shape?? always hard for me, there are so many things i want to eat this time of year....how does everyone else deal with this?

I find it very hard as it is very much a food holiday and my martial arts academy shuts down for 2 weeks! So that's 10 hours of exercise I miss out on. Really I should substitute it with other activities like swimming but I think once the holiday mentality kicks in we just want to be lazy and pig out!

My gym only closes on Christmas Day and New Years' Day, so still plenty of opportunities to exercise. I think it's a matter of moderation; I don't plan on pigging out, and will eat more veg and stay away from real fattening stuff and will be very moderate with alcohol.

Yeah, I will go moderate too. People on avarage put on about 5lbs over the festive season. Let's see if we can atually stay on track and LOSE WEIGHT!!! So it's no to those cakes, choclates and over-indulgencies, and wey-hey I feel great in the new year :)

yikes i have eaten 1700 cals today! shesh and it aint even xmas day.
im going to start up my gyming again, as per prior thred start 27th, but nothing to do 2moro, so gonna find out if gym is open and start earley.

i guess its hard this time of year as its cold and rubbish out side, so difficult to get out :( but we must solider on

hah well the prroblem with me is that i really hate doin cardio, and i feel like that's the only way to beat this time of year, unless you starve yourself lol...idk, i guess i'll just have to toughen up mentally

i felt the same way last year, when i happened to see one of those celebrity fitness shows...i learned a tip that has helped me thus far this year....you basically pick one day out of the week to indulge in whatever you like...then the rest, eat healthy, excercise regularly...it's still tough, but it's like a pattern that my body got used to i guess

That's what I do. I WI on a Wednesday evening then have a 'day off' on Thursday

i have tried that 80 20 rule and it has worked for me in the past...this year, ehh,, lol, but that was my fault...so in turn i think celeb fitness shows can be a good source of tips...im excited for the diettribe show on lifetime...has anyone else seen previews for it...looks like it's gonna get intense: YouTube - DietTribe TONIGHT at 10pm ET on Lifetime! ...there's another show on discovery that i was interested in..national body challenge...did i mention im a sucker for these shows lol =)

it was rather good last night...didn't expect it to hit me as hard as it did...all i could think about after was how can i better myself tomorrow by excersiing
