How do you change the name of a thread?

I go into the first post and advance edit but i've just clicked on a post title and a box came up so i can edit it, but i don't no how i did it and then quickly the thread opened.
I'm confused

Just click by where the title is - double click and then change to what ya want hun....xxxx
