Single parenthood on total meal replacement e.g. LL abstinence or CD SS?

***FOOD TALK WARNING!!!***
Hi,
I'm starting LL in January and I think I'm really ready mentally.

I just wondered if there are any other single parents who are doing abstinence/sole source? How did you cope with having to shop and cook for your children? I know that this is the only way I can tackle my ongoing and increasing obesity - I've tried all the usual diets. However, given my home situation, I can't hide from food until I've done CBT/TA - and leftovers have been my downfall more than once!:break_diet:
Does it work to shop/cook after having a shake? Are there any particular danger weeks? I'd really appreciate any comments or advice.

I don't think it matters whether you are a single parent or not, most women still have to shop and cook!

My daughter found once she had got into ketosis it didn't bother her and she even ended up doing more baking of cakes, biscuits etc than ever before...weird!!! :D

Single parenthood is no harder than having the other half and kids to cook for, etc...leftovers as you will learn on CD and lighter life are just that, they DO NOT have to be eaten, they belong in the bin...

I coped very well on a vlcd and I am a single parent.

Go for it, give it all you've got, you CAN do it!

hi
i'm not a single parent but i feed my one year old and do all the food shopping and often cook for my oh aswell. i have been on ll for 11 weeks now and have not found it too difficult. at first i had to conciously stop myself from eating left overs tt's tip is a good one, but now i'm doing it naturally as my sense of smell has enhanced i can flavour food just by sniffing it. what i have noticed is how many hidden calories i use to consume during the day finishing anything baby didnt. some people like to have a savoury drink while their cooking to feel like their having something, at the beginning i use to eat my packs whilst i was feeding baby but dont tend to anymore.
hope this helps a bit
