Hi there just registered on here hope to make many new friends in this community :)

I am currently trying to lose weight (3-4 stone) is my target. I currently weight 14 st 4lbs, and im 5ft 10.

I have been doing cardiovasacular training every day for about a week now, via treadmill workouts. I spend 5-6 days a week on the treadmill with 45 minute workout sessions, and normally do 4.5km per session.

I just wanted to know whether or not this will be effective or not in my bid to lose the weight once and for all. I am hoping most of my weight loss will come from the thighs and stomach as these seem the most obvious parts of my body that seem to be worked on. But in general I am looking for a sleek new look and looking to turn my life around for good!

p.s. I am also undergoing a healthy balanced diet along with this weight loss, and drinking about 2 litres of water every day, including drinking water throughout my sessions on the treadmill.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks :).

Hi hun, sounds to me like a good plan. Maybe incorporate some toning exercises for your problem areas? But exercise cannot fail to help you lose weight - it follows the simple equation..

less calories in + more calories out = weight loss

cardio is great to burn calories - I would probably say the Cross trainer is likely to be more effective for you though as it burns cals quicker, and works your problem areas harder so may help you to tone those more whilst burning those cals.

Try doing 30 mins treadmill, 15 mins cross-trainer if you can. If you workout at home and don't have a cross-trainer, I'd recommend maybe alternating the treadmill with a workout DVD, so you are building in some more toning exercises to your routine.
