soon to be skinny minnie
Hello everyone, sorry but i'm back in that place again. Ever since my low week where i felt really low and couldn't stop bingeing on crisps and chocolate i thought i would be back on track. I was full of motivation after weigh in last wed even though i put on a pound and a half. I was in a place where i thought 'yeah i can do this'. However ever since thurs/fri i have been good all during the days, then binging at night on take aways , chocolate, crisps and jelly sweets. Back to feeling fat and disgusting but i just can't stop bingeing on food.

All the old thoughts about slimming pills etc are going round in my head.

I don't know what to do. i really don't want to go and get weighed on wed as i don't want to have gained 2 weeks in a row.

It is such a vicious circle with me, i go a couple of days being ok, the most days after that binging, then feeling like i do.

I really don't know what to do, and i thank everyone for advice every time i get like this , then get all motivated, then it happens again.

I also feel like such a fraud giving out good advice, i can give it out but can't stick to it myself.

Once again, sooo sorry for the 'woe is me thread' but it is the only place i can really get it all off my chest.

is there anything you can take for cravings for chocolate?:cry::cry::cry:

Awww hun, don't worry I know 100% how you feel.

As for the chocolate.... (don't laugh)... Marc had an Aero yesterday and I sniffed it, it honestly took my craving away. Try it but make sure someone is there to take it off you incase it doesn't work. Hehe.

Losing weight is hard hun, but you know you can do this, go back to WI, tail between legs and think that the journey starts here. x

Hey betty. We've all been there. This is the first time in years that I've actually managed to lose a stone. I've lost count the number of times I lost 7,8 even 9lbs then something went wrong. You're amoung friends and thats what friends are for. Being here for your good days and bad days.

Try not to beat yourself up. Try and take one day at a time and each day when you feel your cravings coming on try to say 'no' for half an hour. After half an hour if you're still craving then decide if you're going to give into it or not. Chances are you'll have forgotten it by then! As for chocolate, why not try the Trident choc mint gum? It's actually quite nice and only 1/2 syn per pellet - it might help with the cravings.

Don't beat yourself up - we all go through this at one point or another.

Thanks guys, i just seem to be here all the time. Am i right that taking a chromium supplement stops sugary cravings?

I have heard that Chromium can help you get your sugar balance back and therefore help with cravings, but I am not a nutritionist or doctor so can't really say that with any certainty.

That's funny about sniffing the chocolate (see Louise's post). The girl that sits next to me at work got a big box of Milk Tray for her birthday and she kept trying to get me to have a piece or two, despite my insisting I didn't want one. Eventually she allowed me my abstinence but asked me to pass the box to the woman who sits on the other side of me. And as I was doing it, I took a deep sniff of the box and instantly felt as though I had eaten it. I even had a flash of recall of what it felt like to bite through dairy milk chocolate, etc. And that was all I needed. I didn't feel deprived at all! Weird!

Oh will need to give that sniffing the chocolate a go coz i'm terrible, i mean i could prob live off chocolate. Though i have sort of chest pain so maybe totm is due, i can't tell with my implant.

Thanks. I have been bad tonight and i'm just getting my dinner. Going to see how i feel in the morning , if my head is in the right place then i will start again 100%. Just been to see my wee gran in hospital, she is getting out on wed.

hun all i will say to you is dont undo all your hard work and look at what you achieved so far..didnt realise your gran has been in hospital, sorry to here that and glad shes coming out on wednesday thats a relief xx

i don't know if you've tried any of the options or hi-lights hot chocolate drink things. I usually hit those if i have a chocolate craving. You would need to check out the syn values but i'm sure that they are only around 2-3 syns when made up as directed.
those things are so sickly sweet that they usually vanish my cravings for a some time

hope you have woken this morning and the sun is shining for you betty ....Its so hard when there are so many stesses in life but you are doing really well..keep smiling and know you have lots of friends here willing you on ..love and hugs Gilly xxx

Hi Betty,

Im sorry to hear that you are struggling at the moment. You can come out the other side though, but dont beat yourself up over it!
I usually find that I crave chocolate during the TOTM, but instead increase my number of Green Days...if you eat more pasta and potatoes and bananas, you are giving back to your body the energy that it needs, without caving in. I got this advice from a GP and for me it works.

so come on how ya feelin this morning? xxx

I'm not really in the place to advise since I have posted my own woeful message this week...but....do some cooking. That made me feel more positive, like I could eat well even if I got home from work too knackered to do anything but collapse. I also heartily recommend skinny cow ice cream/lollies. They're about four syns, and are delicious and feel risiculously indulgent. I would have one a night if I could, but they're quite expensive (about £2 for three). But G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!!!
