How long does it take?

Hi All,

I have my introduction meeting on Thursday and am really looking forward to it, but I have so many questions that I can't wait to have answered, would someone be able to answer a few?

The LL Counsellor told me that the January group is due to start on 5 Jan, and I'd love to join this group, if my GP signed the paperwork and all is ok, will I be guaranteed to join this group or are places limited? I'm thinking that Jan groups are probably very busy.

I am really focused on starting in January and am trying to read as many posts as possible so that I am prepared for all eventualities in the future.

Am I correct in thinking that I'm likely to lose about 1 stone a month? So that would mean I should lose 6 stones by June?

Do you work with the LL counsellor to set a goal for your weight loss? I wonder if you have a set number of weeks, so that you can see light at the end of the tunnel and have a date in mind to focus on?

I'm a little concerned that I might do the foundation and be the only one that needs to continue on SOLE SOURCE (not sure what you call in) as I have more weight to lose.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Louale

Welcome!!

When i started LL I had to wait 6 weeks after my introductory meeting, however some people get started straight away. The groups are made of no more than 12 female (or male but groups are single sex) and nobody new is allowed to start after week 3. I cant say if you will be guaranteed a place in the group with you LLC but if you have your form signed by your dr, ready to give her then you cant really be more prepared!

On average you lose around 14lbs a month everyone is different but if you stick to it you goal for 6 stone by June would be achievable.

Do NOT be concerned that after foundation you will be left to keep going at it on your own, you wont you will move into a another class with others who have completed foundation but have more to lose.

Hopefully I have helped a little!!

Youve made a great decsion with LL its great!! It will work if you let it!

Awww, thanks so much for that.

I work with 2 people that have lost 8 stones and 6 stones doing LL and I've tried so many diets this year and failed, but I really feel it's going to be different this time.

It's my 10th wedding anniversary in June and I pulled out a little dress that I wore on my honeymoon, it's goregous and I still have the shoes that go with it, I'd love to be wearing the dress on my anniversary, and that's what I'm going to focus on.

Aww wow thats a lovely goal

Of course you can do it as long as you really want it!

I started this because Im a bridesmaid next year and id been quite miserable about my weight and the lbs piling on for some time. I got fed up of trying on dresses and just looking awfull. So my mission was to get to my goal for feb when I get my dress fitting. Although its still my goal I think ive realised losing weight means SO much more to me than the bridesmaid dress. I have so many other goals to lose weight for now!!

Good Luck and go easy over christmas!

Good luck Louale

Welcome
and congatulations on choosing LL.
It has chanhed my life. I've just reached my goal. Next month will be my 13th. wedding anniversary. Until recently my
husband has never known me smaller than size 22-30! Now I'm a size 12.
He is thrilled for me and it's like having a new wife for him because I'm a much happier person now.
You'll lose your weight for your anniversary - and it'll have a brilliant effect on so many other aspects of your life too.
Good luck

SlendaBlenda - Wow look at you, you look amazing, I can't imagine how it must feel to get to goal! I bet you're husband is so so proud of you and all that you have achieved.

Thanks again,
