Black pepper

I'm not too keen on the chicken soup having tried it for the first time on Sunday. Made me feel sickly. :jelous:

As i've still got two sachets of the stuff left i thought i'd put a bit of black pepper in to aid consumption. It did the trick, it tasted much better. So just out of curiosity i thought i'd email the helpful people at LT and ask if i could have it....they said no!

The reason they gave was "If you do it can make you more hungry and slow your weight loss".

Pity that cos it made the soup more palatable...hey ho...sweet shakes for me it is then. :D

Sorry, but that's nonsense. Sorry LT people but the chicken soup stopped me cheating and grabbing something savoury when I was fed up with the sweetness of the shakes. I put black pepper in it and a pinch of chilli powder. Fabulous.

I lived to tell the tale, lost weight, it didn't make me hungry...

The decision is yours, but I'd suck it and see before I binned the soup altogether.

I agree with you Zayna. I think they're worried in case you get the taste for it (as if! :D)...i shall be putting some pepper in my last soup anyhow. ;)

I added Cajun powder to my soup, Mmmmmm was nice :D:D (Dunno if it is allowed oop's)

Well considering your loss Laura, i don't think it's had an adverse effect.

I like cajun, i think i'll give that a go! :D

I live on the soup and always add chilli flakes! Not hurt me!

Yep I have to say whoever give ya that information was wrong!! I was told by the pharmacist to add in black pepper, chillie flakes or curry power and it does the world of good otherwise I wouldnt be fit to manager it at all!! Do what is right for yourself and by the look of your weight loss it hasnt done ya any harm, gud luck

i have chicken soup every day, and have done all the way through LT. Everytime I have added loads of pepper and loads of chilli. I dont care what the scare mongers say, it has helped me lose weight. Putting weight on or increasing hunger pangs because of added spice is utter utter tosh.

In fact, if anything, I would say there is plenty of info available online to show that Chilli can help with fat burning.

Mostly I have 3 soups a day yes, but I do not have my 1st til lunchtime. I cannot do the breakfast time one as when I was it was making me feel really sick then I was sometimes only having 1 shake a day, so I started having them later in the day and I can manafge all 3 now, 1 at lunch time, 1 when home from work and around 9pm-ish!

Soup - urgh! I hated it the first week on its own, didn't think to add anything to it but haven't tried it since. Others have said don't ate salt - it's not good for you and can help you retain water, other than that, add the other stuff if it makes it edible - I may even be tempted to try it again myself!

Try just one sachet next time you're collecting your rations. I really don't like it without anything, but even with the pepper it tastes much better. :)
