Hi everyone,

Just wondering, as there seems to be conflicting advice about, should we be moving up the plans at bmi 25 or bmi 25 plus one stone?

Just being nosy really.

Doesn't moving up the plans start 1 stone away from your goal weight???????????
:confused::confused::confused:That's what i think i am doing. Confused:confused::confused::confused:

As I've read in the UK you have to move up plans when you are bmi25+1 stone.

Hmmm i'm still not sure, i know you can't start SS unless you are bmi 25 +1 stone, but my cdc said i could SS all the way to bmi 25. Confused!

Couldn't find what I was looking for but I copied a post from CD counsellor from last week:

Everyone regardless of age, sex or ethnicity need to be on a minimum of 810 cals once they are at BMI25.

Hopefully a CDC will confirm this for you.

I was under the impression if your start weight is BMI 25 plus less than a stone then you wont be able to SS but you would be able to participate at a higher stage.

If however you start at BMI 25 + 1st (and start on SS) and then lose weight so that you are less than 1st away from BMI 25 then you can continue on SS until you get to BMI 25. I think this is because they anticipate that you will gain a few pounds once you start to go up the stages.

Some people and counsellors choose to go onto a higher stage sooner than they need to as they should still lose weight on 790 or even 1000, albeit at a slower rate.

To start SS you need to be a bmi of 25 + 1 Stone, if you are under this you need to start on the 810Kcal.

If you are already on SS or SS+ you can carry on till you get to a bmi of 25 and then move up to 810Kcal, remembering that you can only SS or SS+ for 12wks max at a time.

Hope this helps.

Fab thank you for all of the replies this helps a lot!
