i do so well then i get to weekend every weekend we go for a walk and yes our walks r often 5 or 6 or more miles long but then i ruin it buying having a meal out or a takeaway when we get home could u tell me the best options i have for eating out in a pub meal, taking a packed lunch with us,and a takeaway (the one we use is a kebab house paul has curry i hate curry and rice so only place that does normal food do on plus side do know they grill things they do burgers kebabs things like that) i know i should really just cut it out but we enjoy walking and we r out all day and i have to eat just need the healthest option ty
p.s i don't like veg and even though i should try it when i go out isn't the time.

Our team at work is having an "away day" soon and we're going for a walk in the country, culminating at a pub for lunch. The menu is laden with all kinds of tempting stuff. There are jacket spuds on the menu, but I eat loads of those in day to day life and want to feel like I'm having a special day out too, so I've decided to order the risotto. I'm sure there will be some syns attached to that, but overall, it was the best option (for a green day) that I could see on the menu.

Of course, this isn't a regular occurence for me, so it won't be that bad for me to eat that as a treat.

A chicken shish kebab is ok. This is usually just chargrilled chicken. Just don't eat the salad and if you want a sauce, have some extra light mayo.

Also doner kebab meat by itself is 12.5 syns for a large portion of just the meat (no pitta and on a red day).

Also chicken chow mein is only 1.5 syns on a green day if you count the chicken as a HEXB.

at the pub do they do things like chicken or steak with a jacket potato? cos thats wat i would stick to

as sarah was sayin kebabs are ok as long as u have them by themselves too

and for a packed lunch how about quiche or sandwich (heb)or some pasta

For a packed lunch option, go armed with syn free quiche, chicken drumsticks (free on red day), ham slices, quorn sausages.
As for the pub meal, I would go for a steak and Jacket potato option, just ask for no butter on the spud.
I hope this helps a little!

thanks
don't like fish but i must try it again

Salmon is always good to start with if you're not crazy about fish, I am a bit fussy about fish, I don't like the type that taste too 'fishy' (sounds a bit weird!!!) so I stick to quite safe options like Salmon, trout and seabass (if I can find it!). I don't like Tuna steak but this seems to be very popular and filling so may be worth a try...

Lol...I agree with the fishy thing too!!!
I like tinned tuna, but fresh tastes too fishy for me!! ewww!!! Lol
