New CDC, question

Just booked to see my new CDC, she sounds lovely and lost her weight for her wedding, just as I'm doing!! Think we're gonna get on great. She has a set fee of £40 for whatever combo of products I choose... is that good value nowadays (for 21 packs)?

I charge: 21 soups/shakes would be £35.70, 14shakes/soups and 7 tetras/bars £37.45 and 21 tetras or bars £40.95. So unless you are tetras and bars .. is a little more expensive.

What about going to KD??? She's as cheap as chips!!

well i do pretty much survive on tetras altho i plan to use porridge for breakfasts too.... so maybe its ok. £160 seems a lot altho I guess my food,drink and diet budget per month is £200 so its not too bad when you think about it.

Lol well unless KD has time to drive over to me and drop them off each week I'm not sure that would be doable- the petrol would cost me more than the packs hehe!! (i know ur thinking im in bmth but my parents are there... i'm in soton). Thanks for the suggestion tho!! xxx

Are you calling KD cheap! LOL. It would be brilliant if you could go to KD -- how far are you from B'mouth?

I really thought the pack prices were fixed, I didn't realise they could vary from one CDC to another. Must admit I get a few extra packs to tide me over hungry days and then I buy the fibre powder every month or so. I rarely spend less than £42 with my CDC each week.

We are all independent of each other and hence can charge whatever we wish! But most counsellors charge RRP for the packs.

Remember though it isn't just the packs you are buying, you are also getting the support, guidance and knowledge of your counsellor so make sure you compare that when picking your CDC and not just who is the cheapest.

Yes I was getting confused thinking you were in B/mouth! KD is too far away then - shame!

Mike's right make sure you have a good rapport with your CDC - it can make the extra differnece when you are struggling. When CD is easy - your CDC doesn't matter too much, when you find it hard, that is when your CDC is worth getting the right one for.

Thanks Mike, valuable point. To be perfectly honest I am really thinking this particular CDC is the ideal one for me. She is based right by my work and we got on really well over the phone, she seems very similar to me and was very encouraging. She is young and totally gets my reasons for doing this.

CDCs I have had in the past (all but my first CDC who was fab) have been quite brash, stern, older women who I just didnt gelle with at all. Part of me wonders if that's why I never succeeded with them. They were 'in and out' counsellors who didn't have the time to chat through issues with me, and it was very much a case of I was paying for the packs and not the service.

But I think this lady will be different (I very much hope so!) and I agree Mike, I think with her I will be paying for the support, which I am more than happy to do as its not for a long time, and while I am on the diet I need the support!!

Am looking forward to meeting her on Monday, still have a few packs that are in date but plan is to buy my supplies for a week from her anyway and I will be left with a few extra at the end of my time on the plan which I can use when I'm working up the plans.
