Just tried Xenacol

I am 37, 5 foot 8 and over the past 2 months managed to go from 9 and a half stone to 12. Have started on Xenacol, but instead of the nasty side effects of having to visit the toilet frequently I have the opposite - started with the tablets on friday, it is now monday and haven't been to the ladies once! Has anyone got any advice on this medication?

Hi there :) I've been on Xenical since April this year and have so far lost almost 4stone ( almost 5 stone since I started my weight loss journey last year :) )
Have you registered with Xenical yet? If you go to http://www.xenicalmap.co.uk/registration/login.aspxv and register there, you can opt to have contact via telephone from one of their nurses. They also send you out freebies :D In my experience they provide great support :)
Did your doctor explain how and when to take your tablets? Stick to a low fat diet ( no more than 5% fat in ANY food you eat, and each meal should be no more than 15g of fat. You take one tablet either just before, during or within an hour of your meal, 3 tablets a day. Sorry if you already know this, but when I got my tablets my doc told me nothing, and from listening to other people they also experience this:(
Also keep a food diary, you have to be very honest with yourself when doing this, but it honestly does help you keep on track. I don't record calories in my food diary, but fat grammes. And don't forget to drink at least 2 litres of fluid a day :) In the almost 7 months I've been on Xenical I've had no side effects whatsoever :)
Good luck on your weight loss journey :)
xx

can you help me then im on xenicil and have been for 3 weeks i lost 5lb but its gone back on and i dont know how so im back to the weight i was originally

i rang the help line number and they said iwasnt eating enough fat in my meals,so ive been eating more like they advised (since yesterday morning) and ive lost 4lb since yesterday,so maybe i wasnt doing it properly,im going to follow the 2 week plan in the back of the book for the rest of the box which is just under 2 weeks and see what happens,if theres no change then im going to try the cambridge diet.
