HOPING TO BE SLIM FOR XMAS

Well, I did CD last year, just for a month before going on hols. Lost 22lbs in 4 weeks, but after hols lost all will to live and managed to put it all back on.

So, with renewed resolve I decided that since I had such good results in 4 weeks last year, that I would try again and this time do it properly until I reached my target weight.

I want to lose 3 stones all together.

Re-started 2 weeks ago and lost 10lbs first week, and at weigh in this morning I have lost another 4lbs - so my first stone off in a fortnight. I am amazed and delighted and full of vim and vigour for the coming weeks.

I know the weight loss will slow, but if I can just keep my willpower then I'm hoping for my first slim Xmas in years and lots of lovely new clothes.

Good luck to everyone who is re-starting and can I just say that, having been overweight for 20 years, if I can stick to it then anyone can.

Went to see my CDC last night and have discovered Porridge for the first time - I LOVE IT :p

My CD life is now going to be so much easier, because i can now have a varied diet rather than 3 shakes a day.

I will have porridge for breakfast, a shake for lunch and soup for dinner. This is going to make it so much easier to stick to.

I also bought the Berry water flavouring - wish I'd got it 2 weeks ago. Drinking the water is now an absolute pleasure and i'd already drunk 1.5 litres by lunchtime!!

I'm still doing okay. 15 days in and I still haven't cheated - which is a miracle for me :D

I'm feeling so good about myself at the minute and can't wait until next week's weigh in.

ooo i hated the porridge ,but im a fussyeater, the berry flavouring sounds nice, think ill get some of that this afternoon when i get weighed!!!keep going u doing good...

omg that drink is sooooo expensive..£9!!!!how many litres does it make????also whats in it,does it contain any sweetners,if its makes loads i may consider investing in it,but seems a lot of money...

it's really strong hon. nobody uses the amount it actually says on it. i tend to use 1/4 teaspoon per 75mls. i think it says to use a teaspoon per litre but the taste is so strong it burns my tongue, ha. mine is still going and i've had it ages. i think you're supposed to use it up within a certain time period though... if you are having trouble drinking the water it's great. it's gorgeous hot on a cold day and it makes great ice lollies if you fancy something to nibble on and it just adds to your water intake :)

hope that helps.

£9 is expensive. My CDC only charges £6 something (can't remember the pence exactly).

If you use one level teaspoon per litre, then the tub will make 30 litres, so when you look at how much flavoured water costs, it is actually good value for money.

The ice lollies are a great idea. Gonna try that today :D

Got my nieces birthday party 2nite and i'm worried I might slip up. SIL has got in a couple of cans of coke zero for me as a treat and I'm gonna take 2 litres of my home flavoured water - once it's in a glass with ice, no-one will know it's not a G&T!! SIL says she has got some lean boiled ham and lean sliced chicken with some salad so that there is something I can eat - I just hope she doesn't have any egg sandwiches - they are my downfall at parties - i just love them :break_diet:

I am going to have my shake just before I go out to try and keep me on the straight and narrow - but this is just another test on the road and if I can get through 2nite without cheating, then I know I can cope with anything.

Congrats again on losing the 8lb

ahh sounds like u will be ok tnt,i tend to have ashake b4 i go anywhere as they fill me up..id pay £6 for that drink stuff but my woman said its about £9 unless she was guessing

Well, week 3 weigh-in 2nite and I've managed to lose another 4lbs (despite 2 birthday parties - though I did stick to chicken & salad) - so that's 18lbs in 3 weeks. I am well chuffed.

Well done Val keep this up no stopping you now!

Well, I am just home from a birthday party and am afraid to report that I fell off the wagon - buffet was amazing - didn't eat anything like what I would have before I was on CD, but still had some things that I shouldn't have. Not going to beat myself up about it tho - straight back on wagon tomorrow and hopefully won't have too much of an effect on scales on Tuesday night.

Val

Hi Val, well you will succeed at this diet it is very important to NOT beat yourself up and to move on, back on the diet, go forward, you will do it.
You have just the right mind set ;0)

Well done

Well done Val,

I think its a case of not getting into the habit of having the food in case it breaks your willpower.

:D :D :D :D Bring on week 4!:D :D :D :D

I too am on week 4, had week 3 weigh in last night, but I also have a couple of celebratory meals this week, so I am not looking forward to next weeks WI!!

Thanks for the encouragement Miss Campbell - I'm being very philosophical about things and I know one night off isn't the end of the world. I know I will still have a loss on Tuesday night, just not perhaps as much as it could have been. If you spread the total amount of calories etc. out over a week, 100% SS for 6 days, plus one blip is still going to show a pound or two on the scales I am sure.

Straight back on track today - just had porridge for brekky - I love it!!

It was an achievement in itself just to drink water all night - especially when it was a free bar!!!

I think main thing is if you are going to eat when you are at functions, just eat the protein element and avoid the carbs - that's easy when you have a hubby like mine who eats a tattie more than a pig LOL.
