Hi, I start on the CD tomorrow. Have all the packs ready and although slightly apprehensive as to how I am going to feel on it I am very excited to know that I will be losing weight very soon.

Any helpful tips that anyone has to help me on my way would be really grateful.

thanks

Hi Dancing Queen,
I personally have a bit of a headache the first few days and feel rather crabby. But drink plenty of water, if you dont feel like doing much and can get away with it do that. The first few days are hard but it does get better promise:D
When you've got time keep posting on here cos everyone seems so friendly and helpful and will answer all your queries.
GOOD LUCK :)

thanks, not much chance of a rest, running around after a toddler plus working....... but will definately drink plenty of water... CD Councellor said 2 litres a day but I have read that others drink much more........ does it make much difference?

well I cant certainly drink anymore than 2 litres Ive seen some people drink up to 5. Just do what you feel comfortable doing. I think aiming for more puts pressure on you and I cant be dashing to the loo all the time at work.

I, too , have noticed that some drink loads more than the 2 .25 litres per day.
I struggle with that amount each day.
I mainly drink green/mint tea and cheap sparking water (Tesco 15p for 2 litres ).
I have not attempted to drink more than the stated minimum and have still managed to lose 30lbs in 46 days.
Nearly at my target weight.
Loads of others have posted tips throughout various threads how they cope with drinking the required amounts of water etc.

I am on my 5th day and i can tell you only my first day and yesterday were my 2 bad day's.

First day was a sore head and yesterday i was really craving food, but i was not hungry.

Just take one day at a time!

I do drink lots of water, I think the 2.5 lts are in addition to any tea/coffee but sure someone will confirm that

The other thing I'd recommend is to get your body fat checked as well as your weight. I go to a scale in Boots once a week and it really spurs me on. I've gone down from 47% to 40% fat in the 5 weeks I've been doing it, and beleive me I was devistated when it said 47%! Anyway I just find it a great motivator to see what I am losing is actual fat.

Keep glugging!

Hey, i have just finished day 7 and i will give you a break down of what you might run into.

Day One: Kinda ok to be honest, you feel hungry alot, but no other real side effects other than pee'ing, ALOT.

Day Two: BAAD day, your body is really missing the food, and you want nothing more than to go get something really meaty and filling.

Day Three: Same as day two, but you also feel really crappy to boot.

Day Four: Things start to lighten up a little, Ketosis is starting to kick in and you only have to fight your mind telling you your hungry.

Day Five: Things really ease up here, you still have a bit of hunger and stuff but easy to ignore.

Day Six: I don't even remember much bad stuff, the big K has kicked in and all is good.

Day Seven: What diet?

You have to have a strong will to ignore food. I am at uni so the house is full of junk food and constant smells of people cooking, but i find hiding away when it gets bad in my room helps!

I drink 2-3 liters a day, i can't handle anymore yet, but it seems to be enough. Stop drinking large amounts around 7-8pm, so your not up all night pee'ing hehe.

Good luck!!

Martyn that is such a great run down on the diet!! i love it!!

Does anyone have the feeling in their mouth as if the have been sucking on a 2p coin?:sign0163::sign0137:

I drink at least 2Ls, but I don't go above 4L - today I am super thirsty and I've drunk about 3.5L.

It's strange as your body does miss the water if you ease off, or you forget! The thirst is so strong and I don't feel that great if I slack off on the water.

I'm drinking between 4 & 6 litres a day. Fallen short a few days but if you can handle peeing 10-15 times a day then drink as much as you can. My CDC said 2-4 litres for women and 4-6 litres for men. I'm constantly refilling my 750 ml drench water bottles from my brita water filter jug and storing them in the fridge. As my girlfriend nd I are both on SS we have no food in the fridge it's just full of water bottles. The fidge has never looked so clean and tidy!

Guy's should be drinking 4 liters? Whoops! lol. I have 2 liters of water, and 2 cups of tea a day, i guess next week i am upping to 4 liters of water and my cups of tea!!

Martyn - thanks for the fab weekly run down... will keep it in mind as the week goes by. So far today okay but have kept really busy...

Hiya you should be drinking 4 pints or 2.25 litres of water a day (more if you want) you can count black tea/coffee/herbal tea NOT fruit or flower.
You can't count the water you use to mix the shakes/soups. (all in yellow booklet Weight Care with Cambridge)
I know some diets say litres but just as you can make yourself ill from Not drinking enough water you can also make yourself ill by drinking TOO much. ;0(
Sole Source delivers fantastic results but those first few days are hard, just remember when you get through them you will feel fantastic and have great weight loss ;0)

Hello Dancing Queen,

Well done on deciding to join us all here. I can agree with Martyns description of the days, I kept telling myself once week one was over it wuld get easier and it does. I am now on week 2 and really getting into the swing of it. I work full time and have to say the only annoying thing now is the peeing !! I must go every half hour and I do have to get up in the night. I would recommend posting on here all the time I found it so helpful, so good luck with your first week and look forward to a good weight loss.
Love Sharon
