Annie (iNaTiZ) - had to buy new clothes!

I thought I'd try and keep a diary of my journey to Slimdome. I may waffle on a bit.. I do have a tendancy to do so, but I write as I think and my brain thinks on full steam ahead!

Ok, so, I have a confession to make. Just under three weeks ago I weighed in at my local slimming world class and I weighed 19 stone 13 and a half pounds :cry::cry:

There! I've done it. I've never EVER told anyone how much I weigh. not my other half, my mum, my friends, not anyone. So, in telling you all here, I am facing the disgusting truth.

On the other hand, I will never weigh that much again! :innocent0002:

It was really weird. I've been doing the on off dieting for the last 10 years and getting nowhere fast. 11 years ago I lost 9 stone with slimming world, so I know it works! and over the years, it's nearly all crept back on. How on earth did I let it creep up on me like that. It was like, one day I was nice and slim and the next I was like the side of a house again!

So the weird thing, I took my 3 yr old to gymnastics and I went for a wander around my local Sainsbury's to kill an hour and I walked past the magazines. The only magazine I saw was the Slimming World magazine. Kind of odd really as there were shelves full of magazines, but the slimming world one just stood out like a sore thumb. I've never paid any attention to it before. I picked up the SW mag, bought it and went and sat drinking a coffee and reading the mag and waited for my daughter to finish her gymnastics.

I made the decision there and then that I was going to go back to SW. I knew there was a class the following morning so I didn't even have time to talk myself out of it. Off I went and joined. Three weeks in and I'm as determined as I was when I joined. I know it's early days.. but my head is right, and I'm just getting on with it. I'm not missing any foods really, I've not had any chocolate at all since I started and the big boost has been losing half a stone in two weeks. I know I have a long haul ahead of me, but it's just a journey like anything else.

Things are made a little bit more difficult for me because I have a condition called Fibromyalgia.

Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition that causes pain all over the body. The condition affects the muscles, tendons and ligaments, resulting in widespread pain, fatigue, and extreme sensitivity to pain. If I do any heavy exercise it feels like I'd done 10 times the amount I actually have.

That said, I am trying to increase my activity by walking as much as I can at weekends, and by parking the car a bit further away from the school gate.

So, confessional done. I need to go to the supermarket to get a few things in for the weekend and for dinner tonight.

Well done you for re-joining SW and for the good losses you've had so far - and Slimmer of the Week already!! I lost all my weight with WW about 7 years ago, stopped going to class, then next thing I knew I'd put it all back on and more as well. Decided on SW instead as I felt a bit restricted with the WW points and had a tendency to use them all on rubbish.
Good luck.

Hi
A warm welcome.
Well done on joining class and in your loss so far.
I have really enjoyed SW, my aim now is to lose some more weight before Christmas and 'behave' at weekends.
All my days are green ones as I am a vegetarian.
Speak soon.

Annie - I just want to give you a big hug. Well done on saying what your weight is, I really admire you, I still can't bring myself to say mine.

It sounds like you're well on track and very motivated. Sorry to hear about your fibromyalgia, it sounds like it makes your life very difficult hun.

I second Irene - I live in Shrewsbury... which is near Chester (ish) too. xx

OK, does anyone want my husband? He's driving me insane today! He won't stop eating! He's got the constant munchies. Instead of having a proper meal or something filling, he keeps coming back from the kitchen every 5 minutes with something else to eat. Crisps, biscuits, cerial bars, chocolate penguins etc etc... It's not that these things are yelling at me inviting me to eat them, but on a normal day I wouldn't even think about them, but as he keeps parading them under my nose as he goes past, they're starting to lodge into my brain.

I REALLY don't want to eat them. I'm full, I had a good dinner at lunch time and had a special K choc chip bar after.. yumm, thoroughly enjoyed it too for 4 syns. But I just wish he'd go and boil his head or something LOL.

He is very supportive of me doing the SW plan and has been very encouraging, especially with my losses so far.

The other thing that irritates me about him at the moment is that he keeps eating stuff I've bought for myself to eat! I bought some nice ham and I caught him eating it yesterday slice by slice, not even as a meal, just grabbed a slice and ate it. I got really pee'd off in the end because he's been doing this all week with certain things I've bought for myself. I cooked a whole chicken last weekend so I could have a meal off it that night, something off it the next day then boil the bones for a soup or something. By the time I'd got to get some for the first time, there was half a chicken! I complained at him and his answer was.. go buy another one? That's NOT the point. Leave my food alone!!!

If he goes into the fridge now, I follow him and growl behind him LOL. Just to make sure he's not getting my stuff. I've put it in one of the salad trays at the bottom to keep it apart from the general free for all grub.

I wouldn't mind so much if he didn't have anything to eat, but I make sure he's got plenty of stuff he likes.. he's just decided he likes my stuff more. He does eat the same meals as me, just larger portions and he has extras and snacks and munchies most of the evening. I think I need to chain the cupboards and fridge up LOL

Hi

Reading your confessional post has rung so many bells with me I weight a little more than you so I'm also in for the long haul.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia around a year ago, I try not to let it impact my life too much but it's really the exessive tirednes that gets me down, but hey ho! Loosing some weight has really helped with the pain I get much less now than before. Good luck with the plan!!I'm sure you'll be brilliant!

Hi Annie
I know what you are saying about 'eating your food' it is so damn annoying. :( I buy loads every week in Asda things for all the family and then fancy something you know you have bought and it is gone.
Probably today is worse because he is at home with you. I know say 'those foods are mine' and it is working - you have to be selfish but I feel guilty when our sons say Mum can I have? but they are learning as well.;)
Hope he learns.

My hubby does that too!!!! I get him all his wee treat things in and I have my low fat stuff. He scoff all his then makes a bee line for my stuff. So annoying !!

Ooopps did the quote thing wrong!!!!

Well done so far - the hardest part is done now enjoy the new journey!

Yep Paul buys BAD food and it bugs me! Then moans at me for not eating things as I said in my diary :(

Must be a man thing!!!

Good Luck hunix

hey good idea keeping all your ramblings in one place! Well done on admitting your weight, it is hard, I know when I first said that I started at 18 stone it was hard, but reassuring to know I wont be at that weight again, unless I carry on messing around! xxx

Hmmm, well I dug this out from the depths of the forum LOL. It was buried.. yikes!

I thought I'd get back to my ramblings in here and keep it all in one place, nice and tidy (haha!)

Well, I wonder how many calories you burn off putting the Christmas decs up? It took forever! It didn't help as Isabelle (3 yr old devil child) decided to 'help'. She put all the baubles on the same branches on the lower left hand side of the tree, declared it "so lovely" and then disappeared. When she came back with chocolate around her mouth, I realised she'd eaten all the cadbury's chocolates I'd bought to hang on the tree. I asked who'd eaten them... was it her? No, daddy ate them all. [tut] Then she started on the candy canes. Little piggy.

Mark put the decs up on the ceiling and went completely OTT and blinged my living room. Yikes. Isabelle loves it though, so it can stay LOL.

I've been painting fairy doors again (go on... chuckle to yourselves LOL) and am ready to list them on ebay. If anyone wants a look before I list them, let me know and i'll post some pics. If you want to buy any, again, let me know :)

Food wise, erm... I've not eaten enough today, I know I haven't.

Had a yogurt for breakfast. Ended up having a really busy day and by 4 o'clock hadn't had chance to eat again. thought it's too close to dinner time, so I decided to wait. Got putting the decs up and it was 7 o'clock before I dished dinner up. We had chicken fillets that I'd put in the slow cooker, and loads of veg. Then I've just had 2 weetabix (HExB). Milk, as always, was HExA.

I'm still hungry though, but there's nothing I can grab. It's shopping day tomorrow, so the fridge and cupboards are a bit bare. Off to bed I think. :D

Well Well Well!!

Mrs 'I don't do green days' is having a GREEN DAY!!

I'm so tired of being cold.. I mean freezing cold.. that I thought I needed some carbs to give me a boost. I only ever do red days because my losses on green days are soooo much slower, but I thought well one won't hurt. God I was so stuffed after my lunch of jacket potato and baked beans. I'm having SW chips and egg with mushy peas for dinner. God help anyone who hangs around me tomorrow LOL

Oh we all love a diary to real, more the better, little monkey eating all the christmas choc's!
I didnt realise your weight losses are slower on green,i was told to do one red and one green? Can i just do red as i like them better?

I like the odd green day. It's a lot quicker!

I think SW as a whole, prefer you to do alternate days. TBH I think everyone has a preference for red or green and will have more of their fave days. Our family as a whole don't burn carbs off very quickly and it's just my findings from different trials that my weight loss is slower the more green days I do. It's not like that for everyone.

I don't like pasta either (strange person, I know) so the only free food I'd really eat on a green day are potatoes and baked beans and there's only so many jacket spuds and beans you can eat without going off your trolley LOL. So I only do red days, and I'm a meat lover anyway.

Do whichever day's you're happy with :D

I love my meat too. I love chicken and bacon salad, sausages, bacon, chicken kebabs, beef burgers, chicken, chicken, and more chicken!
